Remember the ending in the Men in Black movie,, Who know how far it goes, every time we think we have reached our limits we find that we just did not set our limits far enough. How big is the universe or how small is it, we are just a tiny piece of something that is so much bigger than we can imagine.

It's been about 8 years in the making, but I finally passed the 1,000,000 WU mark for Seti. Just running a few old home PC's. Figured they may as well do something besides sit on the shelf in the shed. I know we fill find ET Eventually :-)

I was reading these posts and saw the speed test! So I thought I would see what I have with Comcast. I was suprised. It is a little pricey 55.00 a month but worth it if your moving data.

I have been crunching for Seti for 8 years and have seen many outages. As you all no doubt have experienced computer problems, and they can be frustrating and elusive. No point in getting bent out of shape for something you can’t do anything about. I’ll just crunch what I can and wait until things get back to normal. Just want to say thanks to all of you for all your hard work in keeping this project running as much as you do. As long as my computer will run so will Seti.

Thanks for your input.

I will keep looking around and see what I can find. I am not sure what you mean about the Lunatic installer. as I am not too savvy on all this stuff. I have a few older machines and most are running 99% of the time. The one that seems to get the larger work units is a older laptop about 3 years old. I figure I would just keep them all running since they may as well be doing something since I have them :-) and Seti@home seems to be a good choice. Who knows maybe ET is out there and my small contribution may just help find them.

Again thanks for your help

I am very new at this forum stuff, and am not sure if I am even doing this right but here goes.
I have a couple of machines running Boinc Seti@home and get work units on one machine that are between 3 to 10 hours completion time, and the other machine seems to only gets very large work units that have over a 100 hour completion time per work unit? I don’t believe any of the large work units are AstroPulse tasks. Can anyone tell me why such a difference.

Hi, Sorry for being so vague. I dont know how to paste links but Yes when I said Boinc I ment Seti@home. I do some of the Milkyway but most of my time is spent on Seti@home tasks. I dont believe I have any AstroPulse tasks, as I know they are much larger than the other ones.

Thanks for your time getting back to me.
