Today I clocked my computer and Boinc wont start after clicking on icon. I also formated disk after clocking and seti problems... same thing happens even after format. Then I put my computer back on 1833mhz and same thing-> I click on icon and Boinc dosent start. so, Boinc doesnt start on original processor speed and also not on this clocked system. Anybody to help?

El Nino, with all the previous versions of the science app used in Beta, they used the old benchmark system for claimed credit. The 5.02 app uses a different method.

THANKS for answer! So, this means if I claim on example 400 I will grant same credit? That is good then, servers wont be so busy as now and everything will then work better.

I was "investigating" arround beta site and results.... So, i have a question... -> I saw resulults (on example) whit 2 results returned and -> one claimed 190 credits, second 450... first granted his 190 and second 450. The question is-> this means every cruncher will grant as much credit as he claimed or it will be like here? (3 results- claimed 20, 30, 40> granted 30 for all three /four/ computers) ?

I am having trouble receiving new units on one of my computers for 24 hours now. Is anyone else having this problem? Otherwise the units are running fine, but keep getting no new work.

Thanks,

same here.... Transitioner backlog is now 9hrs, so we will have to face ANOTHER outage I think... But, that is nothing new :(. Run Predictor or some other projects while Seti is "working" like this and wait for better times. :)

Hi

Do you use an optimized seti app???
By changing the motherboard you have other timings.
The XP 2500+ running at 1833 Mhz for example.
Some mainbords running at 1835 and some at 1830 Mhz.
Same with memory Assus fe allways overclocks a bit.

But 2.10 looks good for an 2500+ when not runs an optimized app.

greetz Mike

It works on 1833 Mhz.... normally I crunched 3h10min, then i started to use optimized and then was 1h 30min... now, i changed motherboard (Mr.Pernod i use 512Mb ram, not 2x256 :) ) and it is on 2h 10min.... so, i dont know what is the problem...

Now I tried Predictor WU which earlier I crunched 45mins, now- also 45... So, only in Seti my crunching time has gone UP....

Week ago i was crunching WU in about 1h 30mins, today- it started to chrunch it arround 2hrs and 10 mins....
I was wondering if I am the only one or this happened to anybody else?

I have seen no change in my times. Have you changed anything on your system?

When I checked your account and it showed no work units, are you sure that you are crunching SETI this week?
Ray

I changed my motherboard -> now I have ASROCK K7VT4A Pro... earlier I had Gigabyte GA-7N400S-L. I had to change it because of some problems. Os this the reason maybe that my crunching is 40min. longer than earlier? I have athlon xp 2500 and 512Mb Ram as I had. I only changed motherboard.

Anyone?

I just have a question... some of the crhunchers were (and still are) crunching 6-7h a day for 1 WU... and now they with this new client will have to crunch 30-40hrs for 1WU... And- has anybody thinked about possible errors after 30hrs of work and then you get "error" and all taht energy and work thrown out because os some mistake? I am working 15hrs a day on my single comp.Athlon 2500+, if now and then i get some "error" it is not to bad, because 1-2hrs of crunching was unsuccesfull... but after 15-20hrs? And many of crunchers with slower procesors will stop I think... WU for arround 5-6hrs is I think most appropriate. And dont say there will be some new "processors" because we all dont have money to buy them. :( And yes, i also think there should be something "new" because WU-s for 1-2hrs are too small, and there should be WU-s for 5-6-7hrs... Not bigger because of slow processors out there.

With this crunch3rs client 1 WU is running about 5800sec... :) thanks CRUNCH3R!

Btw... you are talking about new seti client in wich single WU would be crunched over 1-2 or maybe 3 days. What about errors? what if happens same as here now sometimes? I mean, now if boinc (seti) reports error to me on some WU it is not so bad because it has crunched it for 1-2hrs and very quickly this WU is resend to someone else... but what a waste of time it would be if seti reports problem (error) after (on example) 20-30hrs of crunching? ?! And of course, when this "new" seti will be out?

I used to crunch 1WU around 3hours and 15min., now with optimized client from http://www.marisan.nl/seti/ it takes about 2hrs and 20mins. So, this one from crunch3r is even faster?

Thanks for answer

One note 19T50---I use the "old" Crunc3r app HERE

When you get to the page, scroll down and you'll see the column with old Pentium/Athalon. Use that one--the newer version gave my machine fits.

I downladed client under "Pentium3 / AthlonXP SSE"... and on first look it is faster than I client used before because this new one continued to crunch WU and it is crunching faster... We will see shortly... :) THANK YOU

same here... one out of ten is about 6600sek, but usually 8400 sek/wu...

So, i have 4.19 version and benchmarks are about 30% better than on other versions... Why? I dont wont to run any other version if I get 10-15 credits less even if some other version (using Boinc Manager on example) is better and easier to use...
