Thanks for the win Mike.

------------------------
The rules

1. The winner of the last thread starts the new one with a post of these rules.
2. Chooses a future event which triggers the winner, e.g., post number, date-time, and records it privately somehow (yellow sticky, etc.)
3. Everyone has fun posting until the target event is reached.
4. When the target is reached, the old winner posts a declaration of the new winner and also PMs them.
5. Shortly after this, a Mod will lock the recently won thread. (My preference is for the winner to ask the mods to lock the old thread after the new one is started.)
6. No double posts. Violators buy drinks or a meal for the house in Rocky's.
7. Additional rule retained from the last round - No posts that APPEAR to be blank - these will be ignored or deleted. (Sig lines do not count as part of a post)
8. No picture-only posts - not all pictures we link to show on everyone's computers & phones.
8a. Keep the number of pictures per post under 3 or less and/or make them tiny and links to full size.

Don't forget to enjoy yourselves.

Congrats McDuck.

It got off to an 11C (felt like 9C) start today and currently it's 24C (feels like 21C) with 25C being expected, but this wind certainly got my 2 loads of washing dried quickly.

Cheers.

Thank you Carlos and Wiggo.

We started into another sunny day.

Two days ago I supposedly missed a chance of a lifetime. The solar outburst caused massive Northern lights at our latitudes (~52°N) late in the evening before midnight. They were visible here to the naked eye, in not so dark neighborhoods at the city limits. A couple colleagues told me. I only needed to look on some website that predicted probabilities. A pity.

We already had occasional Northern lights here in the past one or two years during the current solar maximum. But they were only visible on pictures taken with cameras and high aperture lenses.

We were within the viewing area of the northern lights as well. Rare this far south, 38.02 N. But we have had fog for weeks now. My last sunrise photo was on Jan 6.

Here today got off to a 12C start with 28C being expected and as this high level fog hangs around it's currently 19C.

I attended to my veggies early this morning followed by replacing the gas struts on my wagon's tailgate and heading over to supermarket to get Dog more food along with a few things for myself just to fill my shopping bag.

Now I'm going to enjoy my last coffee for today before I head up to the pub for lunch.

Cheers.

Today got off to a warm, but breezy, 16C (felt like 14C) with 28C being expected and currently it's a muggy 27C here.

Well I was out early again this morning watering my veggies as well as replanting cos lettuce and Chinese cabbage seedlings before the sun came out from behind the clouds.

Anyhow it's time now for some lunch after a few beers.

Cheers.

It's about 45 minutes after midnight local time here in Fort Worth Texas.

You would think Armageddon is around the corner with the way people are hoarding things at the store before the rain turns to sleet, then a mix of a little snow and sleet that is supposed to turn into freezing rain while temperatures drop down to the single digits Fahrenheit (+8 F / -13 C) on Sunday night.

I'll leave you with this from our local newspaper (Yahoo link so you can read it):
God forbid you go without eggs: Top 25 ‘panic shopping’ list for Fort Worth snow

[...] our innate instinct takes over to load up on all dairy products, starting with eggs. Of any kind.

Free range. Cage free. Caged and locked up. Gluten free. Gluten infused. Organic. Pasture raised. Raised by single moms. Grade A. Grade B. Grade F. Large white. Jumbo Brown. Equally yoked. And, for the truly desperate, non-organic.
ROFL.

Well I just got back inside from tending to my veggies just as the sun comes out from behind the coastal cloud bank while it was still 16C here as 28C is again expected today.

Anyhow it's time for a 2nd coffee while I keep my eye on the temps to see when I have to close up my unit to keep the heat out.

[edit] Well that didn't take long for the temp downstairs and outside to pass the temp upstairs so I've got 18C (feels like 14C) locked in. Now to see how long I can last before having to open up again.

Cheers.

Which reminds me, I've got to go and check my unit to make sure it hasn't frozen inside...

I really don't like being woken up in the early hours of the morning by thunderstorms and today was another 1 of them. Well those so called weather experts got it wrong again yesterday as they dropped the original forecast down from 29C to 28C and we wound up with 30C (felt like 29C) instead, they really need to go back to the old way of forecasting instead of relying on computers to do it for them. Currently it's 16C (feels like 17C) here as the sky begins to lighten up with 32C expected today and higher temps over the next couple of days. Thankfully I live in 1 of the coolest places that this continent can provide.

My youngest daughter and her BF will be dropping in today so that I can finally meet my latest grandchild in person which will be a hoot.

Anyhow it's time for another coffee as I continue to try and blow the heat out of my unit. At least I won't have to water my veggies this morning and hopefully we'll get some more of that falling wet stuff so that I won't have to do it this arvo as well.

Cheers.

Still on my little island. It's 40° F/5° C warming to 53 °F/12°C. It's still a couple of hours until sunrise. I will be in Las Vegas this evening. Looks like they have the same low but slight warmer high.

Well my 8mth old grand daughter is 1 adorable very happy chappy and my youngest daughter is 1 very proud mum who has my other daughter very jealous.

We hit a stinkin' 34C here yesterday and as I continue to try and blow that heat out of my unit and the sky starts to brighten it's 13C (feels like 14C) with 33C expected.

Anyhow it's time for a coffee before I head outside to water my veggies again.

[edit] Well that's the veggies done and before the sun has hit the yard so it's time for a 2nd coffee.

Cheers.
