Thank you for the win, Wiggo.
I should be around for a while yet. I did buy a house in Guanajuato, Mexico, but I am having it remodeled. So will be in California off and on.

Now for the rules:
-------------

1. The winner of the last thread starts the new one with a post of these rules.
2. Chooses a future event which triggers the winner, e.g., post number, date-time, and records it privately somehow (yellow sticky, etc.)
3. Everyone has fun posting until the target event is reached.
4. When the target is reached, the old winner posts a declaration of the new winner and also PMs them.
5. Shortly after this, a Mod will lock the recently won thread. (My preference is for the winner to ask the mods to lock the old thread after the new one is started.)
6. No double posts. Violators buy drinks or a meal for the house in Rocky's.
7. Additional rule retained from the last round - No posts that APPEAR to be blank - these will be ignored or deleted. (Sig lines do not count as part of a post)
8. No picture-only posts - not all pictures we link to show on everyone's computers & phones.
8a. Keep the number of pictures per post under 3 or less and/or make them tiny and links to full size.

Don't forget to enjoy yourselves.

Thank you, Mike and Mr Duck.
Goose season opened yesterday. My pre-dawn coffee is now punctuated by shotgun blasts all around. It's still an hour before dawn, and the sooting has started. I really wonder if they can see what they are shooting at?
Currently, the air temperatures are 14 °C/57°F with a high of 24 °C/75°F expected.

Infrared scopes. They do it at night with feral hogs.

Shocking!

I hope there are more than enough gooses there so this feathered species isn't endangered?

I learned as a 11 year old student in our school's afternoon air rifle shooting club (behind the Iron Curtain... in the 1980s; such courses at schools are unthinkable today):

Never shoot at birds!

I never had any formal training. Just self taught. Not a good shot. But I can hit the broadside of a barn.

Just tried to go to the BOINC MESSAGE BOARDS...
BOINC message boards is temporarily shut down for maintenance. Please try again later.

Lol, the weather guessers have called this a "cold front" which has infiltrated North Texas the last 2 days. Overnight lows mid to upper 50's with daytime highs near 80.

I'm not complaining about it and helps on my electric bill.

Edit.. the BOINC message board is back up again.

Well I've recovered from my 2nd interrupted weekend in a row, but at least I did put that interruption in charge of my mower while I took care of the line trimming along with the path and mow strip edges so my yard has been totally tamed again.

After another weekend of mid to high 20C's today is set to hit 31C after a 10C (felt like 9C) start and ATM I'm trying to get as much of that cool outside air pumped inside.

Anyhow it's time for a coffee.

Cheers.

There was a very minor earthquake here earlier. Thought it was a cat jumping off the bed but when I turned on the light they were all asleep.
Sunshine expected today and a high of 78°F

Another day of mixed weather, or maybe weather that just can't make up its mind whether to rain, be sunny, or just be autumn in the UK....

After an 11C (felt like 10C) start and a quick trip into town to see the vampires it's now up to 23C (feels like 21C) on our way to an expected stinking 30C.

Time now for a coffee while enjoying the coolness of my unit.

Cheers.

Dull and grey all day, 14°C. A storm front will approach on Thursday along the North Sea, then cross over Denmark into the Baltics... The storm will mostly affect Southern Germany and the coastal regions in the North... Nothing out of the ordinary. It's finally autumn, where storms are part of the package.
