Made it to Guanajuato yesterday

I booked a room in an Airbnb that proved really hard to find. This city is made up of several small valleys accessed via former mine shafts. The street that my rental is located on is composed of three district sections. It took nearly an hour, with the help of locals, to find my room. Granted, it is centrally located. I can access most of the downtown area through old mine shafts. A local architect is giving me a tour later today. While I was drawn to this city because of childhood memories, it feels oppressive. I still need to give it a chance. So far the food is great. My Airbnb has no view but it's large and well furnished.

Oh, the weather is perfect. 75-78 day highs with lows in the mid-50s. 35% chance of rain on Sunday.

The weather sounds nice Carlos. Beats feeling like being barbecued as you walk out the door here.

Saturday got off to a damp 4C (felt like 1C) start here while a soggy 10C is expected and I fed Robbie the Robot a few good pieces of his favourite firewood for breakfast to get the whole shed warm so that I'm not stuck upstairs all day.

Anyhow it's coffee time.

[edit] There was 7mm in the gauge at 9am after 4hrs of constant rain while the experts reckon that I'll dump somewhere between 20-40mm tomorrow morning and it's now 8C (feels like 4C).

Cheers.

Another great passed, Hulk Hogan, dead at the age of 71 from cardiac arrest. Can't say I was ever a fan, but he was well-known, and my son loved to watch him.

Yes, we do seem to be approaching the end of the warranty period on these bodies. Today, I am worried about my knees. I walked a little over 20 miles yesterday in this city whose average elevation is around 6,700 feet, 2050 meters, but within the city, there is probably a 1,000-1,200 foot elevation difference. I have been doing a lot of climbing. My lungs could feel it while I was out. My knees feel it this morning.
Guess it's

After a soggy and windy weekend (but at least it was a restful 1) Monday hasn't started any better with a damp 4C (felt like -1C) start while a very windy 9C is expected along with more of these showers.

Anyhow I've now got Robbie the Robot revved up downstairs so I might as well get a 2nd coffee in before I strip my bed and flip the mattress.

[edit] Well after stripping the bed and vacuuming I think that I'll get a 3rd coffee in to let my deteriorating spine have a short rest before I tackle that huge and heavy mattress.

Cheers.

Another cool and overcast morning here. We are caught in constant low pressure systems; occasional rain; rarely sunshine. Just up to 23°C (73F) this afternoon and we are among the warmest regions in Germany now; still way colder elsewhere.

Is that already the end of summer? Hopefully not.

People have this idea of Mexico being hot and dry. I am still in the central mountain city of Guanajuato. It's 58F/14C and the high is expected to reach 76F/24C. Mostly cloudy but no rain in the forecast. I seem to have adapted to the altitude, and I'm discovering more mine shafts (adits) that have been converted into roads and walking paths than I ever imagined. There really is an underground city that is not shown on Google. Off to find breakfast, and an ATM, I'm running out of local currency.

Well up on top of the range here it got off to a frosty -2C (felt like -5C) start with 12C expected before more of that falling wet stuff returns, but hopefully I'll get this load of washing dry before that happens.

Currently it's 6C (feels like 2C).

Cheers.

It was a damp 5C (felt like 3C) start to Hump Day here and after checking the rain gauge and then crossing over to the supermarket for a few things in a fine misty drizzle I've decided to cancel my wander around to the post office to pay a bill and the wind hasn't arrived as yet, that can wait until tomorrow (or even next week). 13C is expected today along with 1-5mm.

This wet weather isn't helping with my firewood deliveries with last week's delivery being delayed due to the current boggy conditions and which don't look like easing until next week at least and Robbie the Robot ran out of food yesterday. Oh well I'll just have to stay in my nice warm unit this unusual wet weather passes and unusual it is as we're well above this month's 55mm average with almost 91mm at this point. We could also see snow this weekend.

Anyhow I'll get what should be my last coffee for the morning before deciding what I'll stream today as I have nothing else left to do with this weather.

Cheers.
