A society split-up over political convictions along religious confessions... Ugggh... It seems it's no longer the time for debates over the most convincing political arguments; instead it's just your origin and upbringing that determines the political party you will support. You can find that in Lebanon as well among three different religious groups there, also religiously segregated housing quarters like in 1970s Belfast (Northern Ireland). Unfortunately there are no data points before 1994. There had been a few societal struggles in the U.S. in the 20th century before. Would be interesting to know how it was back then. But eventually this detailed scientific analysis and forecasts of voter preferences started only lateron, I don't know... |

Moving back to DJT and his assorted rantings.... Yesterday he was bemoaning the fact that most of the rest of the world was watching the USA (aka "Trumps toy land") getting itself embroiled in what could so easily become a second Vietnam and not joining in. Today's headline is a bit different in that someone in the US may have bent DJT's ear somewhat and suggested that the simplest way to get oil etc. moving again is to move the US's armed forces out of the conflict area. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/ce84073mr06t Well, it might be good, or it might be bad news, such are the ramblings of a possibly demented mind? Or the Canadian astronaut was being very Canadian and decided to be extremely polite (aka "Canadian") and thus felt unable to say anything polite and kept quiet.
