For a general observation:

The news all about Trump looks ever more to "normalize" extremism, and lawlessness, and extreme language, and anger. All wrapped up in a lot of obfuscation and befuddlement and continual change such that there simply is no clear message.

All part of the game of a new wave of Propaganda?

Sadly, it seems to be working.

... Now that's not going to end well... For anyone...

All from Trump's USA...

President Trump shares new triumphal arch renderings on Truth Social

On January 23, Trump shared a triptych set of triumphal arch renderings on Truth Social. The post didn’t have a caption, so the source of the renderings, and the intent behind them, is unclear. All three proposals proportionally speaking evoke the Arch of Titus, on Rome’s Via Sacra—four engaged, fluted pilasters on each facade framing a single grand arch. The Arch of Titus was built following Rome’s military conquest of Jerusalem.

The new renderings of triumphal arches are similar in scale and materiality to the proposal by Harrison Design floated last year. Except these latest versions aren’t topped by a gold winged angel and have circular reflecting pools at their base.

Monumental ambitions: the history behind Trump’s triumphal arch

When Trump first displayed models of the proposed arch last October, a reporter asked him who it was for. Trump replied “Me. It’s going to be beautiful.”

In a December update, the president said the new arch “will be like the one in Paris, but to be honest with you, it blows it away. It blows it away in every way.”

Architects for the project, Jean-François Thérèse Chalgrin and Jean-Arnaud Raymond, drew on classical arches for inspiration, with Rome’s Arch of Titus (circa 85 CE) as the main source. It was built by Emperor Domitian (51–96 CE), a cruel and ostentatious tyrant who was popular with the people but battled with the Senate and limited its power to make laws.
Trump admires Emperor Domitian's heritage? Could be worse, e.g. Nero's...

Even though Sleepy Crooked Donny wishes that the Epstein files scandal would go away it keeps on keeping on.

Ghislaine Maxwell will only talk if Donald Trump grants clemency, her lawyer says.

Meanwhile last night's Planet America delves into Donny and his family's corruption as well as the Epstein files.

There's no need for her to speak to anyone... as long as she stays behind bars for the rest of her life... and they meticulously ensure that only legitimate prison personnel approach her cell.

Another blow for delusional Donny.

US Supreme Court rules Trump tariffs are illegal.

The US Supreme Court has handed down a bombshell ruling against President Donald Trump's global tariffs, deeming them illegal and killing them off.

The court ruled 6-3 to uphold a lower court's previous finding that Mr Trump had illegally imposed tariffs under a law meant for national emergencies.

The decision is the most significant and consequential court strike-down of a Trump policy since his return to the presidency.

It means the US may now have to refund billions of dollars to businesses that paid the tariffs. However, it is unclear how any refund process would work, and the court decision did not provide clear guidance.

Legal experts say the decision is likely to spark a flurry of new claims in lower courts........
Only stooges Kavanaugh, Thomas and Alito dissented.

No, that's not the reason. The BBC argues it's her excessive self-promotion and penchant for luxury which Trump fears is too much for his base.

Trump cuts his losses on Noem after controversial tenure at homeland security

Sooner or later, advisers in President Donald Trump's orbit all come to learn the same unwritten rule: no-one can outshine the boss.

Trump is reported to have called Republicans in Congress asking if he should fire Noem, [...] It is perhaps telling that some immediately backed his decision on Tuesday.

It would appear DJT (and his minions?) are far from happy that other countries are not rushing to bail him out of the war he started.

Has he just managed to get the US into another Vietnam style war, where he wants (or at least his ego wants) to win, but is finding that not everyone (most?) are not using his play book?

I don't know about Trump's decision making. But Ariel Sharon was Israel's PM from Mar 2001 to Apr 2006.

Bush Jr.'s actions in the Middle East have been decided by this team:

Adolf Benji at the time was hanging around jr. and the white house like a blowfly hangs around rotting meat.
Thanks for this. I wasn't aware of Netanyahu's activities in the hiatus between his 1st and 2nd tenure as PM.

Just a wild guess from me:

Netanyahu eventually understood a long time ago that Israel will be completely defenseless against a vast barrage of Iran's ballistic missiles; their large-scale missile inventories in hardened underground complexes. It would saturate their air defenses; without the ability to retaliate, e.g. send fighter aircraft into Iran's airspace. Syria's and Iraq's (both hostile to Israel) land masses back then in fact shielded off the Mullah regime from Israel's military power; admitted that Saddam and the Mullahs were ideological opposites, even hereditary enemies. However, in the Middle East... how deep their mutual hatred may run, Israel immediately makes them all brothers in arms.

Israel can't destroy Iran. But the Mullahs, with sufficient preparation, time and money could have achieved to annihilate the small territory of Israel some day.

So the diabolic Mephistopheles Netanyahu lobbied the U.S. gov in 2002 to invade Iraq (pursuing his own nation's security interests).

Israel's government in 1990/91 (2nd Gulf war) and 2003 (Iraq war) decided not to offer Saddam any reason to attack; yet he launched ballistic missiles against them.

I had the conviction that U.S. foreign policy is decided by Americans in the best interest of their nation. I believed this for a long time.

The warmongering Bush warriors and their insane ideas, like enforcing democracy in Iraq (and Afghanistan for this matter), their wild-roaming U.S: private military companies (Blackwater & Co.) destroyed this belief. Especially the lobbyist pressure to occupy a country in order to gain large profits from rebuilding by means of awarding contracts (outside of market mechanisms) to all kinds of shady American companies (at taxpayers costs).

Trumps motivation is different now. Occupation or profits like in Iraq is not part of the playbook: If there is a plan... I fear it was just a gut decision to fully attack now without a well-thought-out exit strategy.

I think Trump motivations are:

  1. Mullahs rejected any of Trump's deal proposals and have a longtime reputation of breaking treaty obligations anyway
  2. 400+ kilograms of highly enriched uranium (sufficient for 10+ nuclear warheads),
  3. Iran's growing proficiency producing long range ballistic missiles,
  4. take over of Iran's oil exports (would be a hostile move towards China)
  5. or at least demonstrating the U.S. capability to stop Iran's oil exports to China anytime to deter Xi from military adventures in East Asia.

I readily believe that Netanyahu always wanted to remove Saddam's regime. But he (as you quoted, "a private citizen" without an official position) never could have convinced or pressed the U.S. to invade Iraq.

Ugggh. ????

I'm more inclined to believe that Putin, applying the KGB's tried-and-tested methods, is now controlling and directing the Trump administration. There's plenty of evidence for this. Just look at the figure of Witkoff, one of Trump's longtime personal friends. Calling him 'russophile' isn't an insult.

Btw. do you remember the "diplomatic" negotiations with the Mullah regime in Oman? Both U.S. representatives, Witkoff and Kushner; two Jews did negotiate with rabid Islamists. Strange.

So, it's the American Jewry that directs the U.S. government? This veers into conspiracy theories.
