Well Thorsday is nearly at its end here so it's time for me to prepare for another P.O.E.T.S. Day.

Cheers.

Dark and chilly damp outside...

Enjoying a pause for thought inside.

... And a steaming hot pint mug of coffee!

Winning on a P.O.E.T.S. Day morning where it's 14C with 27C again our target before showers and storms turn up, possibly before noon, so I think that the mower will stay in the shed while I finish brushcutter what's left of the front yard and laneway and then rake up the grass that's laying everywhere.

Anyhow it's time for a coffee.

Cheers.

Sort of winning...

The shrugging shoulders "good enough no cares" operator was persuaded to get somewhat closer to 100% for the sake of engineering correctness... That took quite a 'discussion'... I was in no mood for his excuses or squirming pride. We got nearer to spec this time.

I'm fore armed for if he's coinciding on the next shift...

All very silly.

After 80mins out in the sunny heat I've now got the whole place down to a level that the old mower can handle and now I'm having a cool down break before I head on back out there to rake as much as possible up and put it into the current compost bay otherwise I won't be going very far between catcher loads when I start mowing tomorrow (if we did get much in the way of rain today that is).

Anyhow while it's a muggy 25C outside (yes we've again passed our daily December average again) it's 21C (feels like 18C) inside my wind tunnel and even though it's an hour early I'm going to have a beer before going back out.

Cheers.

Hallelujah!

22A single phase... That's taken TWO WEEKS to find out!!

No useful details from the supplier or manufacturer. However, some other poor sod suffered a damaged unit and did a bit of reverse engineering and has kindly published what was found... All in a very very obscure niche of the internet!

Fantastic!!

I just finished raking up about 10 catcher loads of grass and put it all in my 2nd compost bay as those dark clouds again begin to build up and the temp hits a steamy 26C.

Meanwhile I'm now going to have a few beers while cooling down in my wind tunnel, where it's 22C (feels like 19C), as I consider what I'll have for lunch.

Cheers.

We reached 27C (felt like 26C) today while those showers and storms skirted around us once again so mowing will be on tomorrow morning.

Anyhow I'm trying to stay awake for another 60-90mins otherwise I'll be up at some ridiculous time in the morning.

Cheers.

Why does everything have to pile up onto the Friday?

So... All the timing all goes to ...

At least I can feel virtuous for un-jamming a few jobs with some keen sleuthing. Yeah! Still glowing nicely from some technical revelations yesterday. Proprietary lock-in be damned!!

Lots to do!

And the weather has taken an about turn to be unseasonably warm and mild and not freezing wet. That jet stream high up somewhere must be very badly kinked at the moment...

As everyone knows Friday is "POETSday", and thus anything that doesn't get done this week won't be done of Friday, so will be left to next week, and as it's not been done it can't be important.....

Happy Friday!
The sun just poked up over the hills at its 31f in Reno. Forecast is for snow starting about 9 am. The sky looks too clear for that but I see that we are going to get "Walloped" by a new atmospheric river. Fox is protecting 3 atmospheric rivers in 5 days. It looks like we are finally getting our winter.

Winning on a Saturday morning as the sun is about to rise and it's 15C (feels like 14C) with a stinking 29C being expected.

Anyhow it's time for a coffee.

Cheers.

I've got the old mower all fueled up and ready to go, but I'd better wait an hour before I fire it up so that I don't annoy my neighbours too early. I'm hoping to at least get half of my backyard done before it gets too hot out there.

Anyhow I might as well get a 2nd coffee into me as the temp hits 17C here.

Cheers.

We got to 28C (felt like 26C) here today, but the easterly wind off of the ocean arrived early.

Yes some may scoff at that temp (especially here down under) with 35% humidity on the big ridge that's still 4C above our December average. It's very reminiscent of 2019, except wetter with no bushfires encircling us this time.

Well the old mower is ready to go again in the morning and I hope that my neighbours will forgive me for an early Sunday morning start as I hope to get most of the backyard (if not all) done before it get too hot.

My wind tunnel got up to 24C (felt like 22C), but the humidity was twice as much as outside so when that easterly wind turned up I opened it up. It's now 21C (feels like 20C) outside and 22C (feels like 19C) in here.

Anyhow I guess that I should think getting myself something for dinner.

Cheers.

Currently, it's 34f and we have some light rain and snow. I'm on a hill overlooking Reno. It looks like I am getting snow, but it's rain not much further down. Heavy show in the higher elevations. I am not driving down to the Delta this weekend. Chains are required on the pass and they are having heavy rain down on the coast. I see San Francisco has tornado warnings and 60 mph winds.
A nice cup of coffee, purring cats, and bread baking are my pleasures this morning.
