It's brisk here at the foot of the sierras. Currently 49f with a range of 24 to 52. Clear and sunny.

I've got 2 finished and 1 ready for some soil/compost guru (once I mix some more up), but that's it for me today as the temp outside sits at a steamy 27C (feels like 28C) as the clouds gather again and 30C downstairs so I'm retiring to my 22C (feels like 20C) unit upstairs until things improve.

Cheers.

There is little excitement down at my Delta house. We had a tsunami warning. Nothing manifested, but a few locals called me asking how to save themselves. I just suggested sitting on top of the levy with a favored spirit. Eurkea suffered damage from the quake but no tsunami was generated.

Was wondering if you were floating or on the hill.

It got to a stinking 29C here today before storm clouds blocked out the sun, but some cooling rain would be nice.

Cheers.

Thanks, yes!

And yes, last orders beers did help, with two fine stouts.

And by 'eck wet 'n' wild it was last night...

Anyhow, I've got a breather to enjoy some very diffuse sunshine before a long last shift before escape to Civilization tomorrow.

(At least I hope so... With this lot and 'happenings'... Ya never know even just an hour beforehand!)

I see there is a red warning for high winds in Minehead - nothing to worry about as my nephew and his mate are going out for a curry tonight.

Winning on a Saturday morning in the highlands where the temp is 15C with a stinking 28C expected.

It's time to turn the kettle on.

Cheers.

... And no planetary concerns??!!!

Can we add seaweed to curries to at least mitigate against some of the greenhouse gas emissions?...!

Meanwhile, I've made an early partial escape to:

1: Make it out before the worst of the storm;

2: Catch Last Orders (admittedly not at the best of the pubs);

3: Recover from trying to educate an old new operator on operating more than just the dumb rudimentary operations of some controls...

So, sadly, we lost the expert operator recently. Hence the second operator has to take over, but has kept quiet about not knowing what the buttons do! Worse still, some of the buttons have an auto-repeat that is totally incompatible with slow fingering whilst trying to read an idiot's recipe!... I now understand why we always had to wait for the one expert...

I'm going to have to allocate a lot of time to giving that training...

This is very much not my normal work... However, this is essential to avoid silly expensive problems... And there's no one else qualified! Hey ho!!

Hence, various jobs have spilled over into the morning...

Beer helps!

I've cleared both of guru bays out and a 3rd new wicking tub is in its place outside and as it's now 25C (feels like 26C), but it's also 28C downstairs so I might leave doing anymore down there until later in the day when it cools down.

The only place that I'll be going now is up the hill for a LLB and a feed that I don't have to cook as I want a break from sandwiches and I don't want to generate any heat in my 21C (feels like 18C) unit.

Cheers.

And my thought for the day... To misquote Einstein:

Madness is repeating the same instructions to an operative and hoping for them to learn what to do for themselves...

To late for the emissions reduction. Navy beans was cooked and eaten. The air quality report was TOXIC.

I got a 4th new wicking tub ready for a soil/compost guru (that I still have to mix up) before getting in a few beers up at the pub and grabbing a small pizza (Dog was happy as she knows that she's getting the crusts with her dinner), taking a special pill and now I'm ready to grab my book and get horizontal for a spinal reset.

Meanwhile temp here is now at a muggy 27C (feels like 26C) as clouds are building up yet again, but whether we'll get any rain is another story.

Cheers.

That's a great idea, but of any value when my nephew's curry of choice is a lentil vindaloo with extra chillies and a red-hot chilli pickle. I suspect the main cause of his noxious gaseous emissions is the added chilli pickle.

For anyone who wishes to experience the same chilli blast, but as a sauce not pickle:

(I'm not sure if they ship outside the UK.....)

Won't tell you in SoCal it is 60f now on the way to 80f. The tournament's sacrifice to the devil must be working this year.

Sounds like it's a good year to plan on visiting the Rose Parade.
