Modi's attempt at dividing India along religious lines is sadly over spilling here down under. :-(

Australian authorities on alert as Sikh-Hindu tensions over Khalistan separatist movement boil over in Sydney.

Tensions have again flared between sections of Australia's Sikh and Hindu communities in the wake of a contentious vote designed to build political support for an independent Sikh state in India.

Some Sikh community members gathered at a construction site in Minchinbury in Sydney's western suburbs on Sunday to hold the latest "referendum" in favour of establishing a new state called Khalistan in India's Punjab region.

Khalistan supporters in the Sikh diaspora in several Western nations have held similar events to build their movement's profile, and have already held public "votes" – which are non-binding and have no legal impact – in both Melbourne and Brisbane.

India's government and some Indian community groups in Australia have been angered by the referenda, saying the movement's backers are stirring up hate and running an agenda explicitly aimed at splintering India.

Some Indian politicians have also accused Pakistan's government of funding the movement to destabilise its neighbour.......
Just another reason why they should be kept separated.

Our ex prime munster and religious nutter, SloMo, is yet again at the bad end of yet another report linking him to yet another religious scandal.

Morrison's $4m endorsement of defunct Esther Foundation 'silenced' rehab residents.

Former residents of the Esther Foundation Christian rehabilitation facility say they were deterred from speaking up about allegations of abuse and mistreatment after former prime minister Scott Morrison personally visited the centre during 2019.

In 2019, Mr Morrison went to the Perth-area women's residential facility, which shut down last year following allegations of abuse, to announce a $4 million grant for the centre, which claimed to help women with addictions, mental health and eating disorders.

Women who spoke out about their experiences at Esther Foundation said they were relieved but not surprised this week when a report by the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) concluded the grant was approved with "insufficient due diligence" and was likely given without lawful authority.

Cara Phillips, who spoke publicly last year about how she was treated at the facility, said she was not surprised by the ANAO findings.

"Myself and probably most of us who had been involved there were shocked and surprised when the grant was awarded," she told ABC Radio Perth presenter Jo Trilling on Wednesday......

WTH does religion have to do with medical science?

Raskin slams ‘preposterous’ idea that Biden drug control strategy should include ‘faith’.

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) sharply rebuked a suggestion from Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) that President Biden’s national drug control strategy is flawed because it does not mention God or faith, calling that idea “preposterous” in a hearing Thursday.

In a hearing examining the Office of National Drug Control Policy’s efforts to combat the overdose crisis, Raskin argued that mentioning God or faith would violate the U.S. Constitution, which specifically prohibits Congress from making laws respecting an establishment of religion.

“The gentleman is somehow looking for some kind of religious test, which is explicitly forbidden in the Constitution [for] people for public office, in the drug control strategy,” Raskin said, referring to Gosar. “Surely, [faith] can make a difference in terms of people’s individual lives and individual paths to recovery. People will derive sources of strength from many different places, including religious faith, including their friends and their family, including psychology and so on.”

“But the idea that our drug strategy is flawed because it doesn’t put religion in the center seems to me to be preposterous,” said Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Oversight panel......

I hope that this mighty white lowlife so called Christian receives the results he so well deserves as the people can certainly well do without such a moronic nutter.

Busselton council candidate Stephen Wells stands by racist, anti-Semitic commentary.

You really have to wonder what sewer breeds these rejects.

I'm sorry Mike, but it'll never be "your time" while your head is where it is with those sly sky fairies.

Pence calls it quits on presidential campaign due to no one really caring about him.

I'm just so surprised that it took so long for him to realise that his god wasn't behind him, it must of been all that praying he was doing.

It seems that religious nutter Johnson isn't the flavour that some want.

Online Christian group petitions to condemn Mike Johnson as a false prophet.

Newly elected Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has been extremely vocal about his strict Christian beliefs, going so far as to say that reading the Bible will teach you everything there is to know about his world view. But an online Christian group called Faithful America isn't buying it, launching a petition to condemn him as a false prophet.

According to Newsweek, the group is in the midst of their second-annual "False Prophets Don't Speak for Me" campaign, which aims to show that false prophets "will never speak for Jesus" for the Christian community. Alongside Johnson — for whom they've collected over 12,000 signatures in favor of condemnation — they've listed other Christian-nationalist leaders such as Donald Trump, Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Ohio Representative Jim Jordan and co-founder of Moms for Liberty, Bridget Ziegler......

Just another far right religious nutter who wants to control your life.

A US state senator has proposed a law that would make watching pornography a felony and ban sexting among people who are not married.

So much for freedoms that morons like this want to take away.

The Mad Abbott of Texass is determined to turn the state into a state for privileged religious people.

Abbott Gets Scathing Rebuke From Largest Texas Newspaper: 'Disturbing'.

Texas' largest newspaper, the Houston Chronicle, rebuked Governor Greg Abbott on Sunday in an editorial over a "disturbing" school voucher program.

Texas has long been facing fierce bipartisan resistance to the idea of using state dollars to pay for private school tuition. Meanwhile, the governor had been on a mission this primary season to unseat the House Republicans who repeatedly voted against his school voucher program. Campaign finance reports show that Abbott spent $6.1 million between January 26 and February 24 to deliver on his campaign promise.

Even after calling legislators back for four special sessions, Abbott ultimately lost a yearlong fight to pass a bill that would have given parents educational tax dollars to send their children to private or religious schools instead of public ones. His defeat was largely driven by a united Democratic coalition and about two dozen Republicans who represent rural areas and whose communities oftentimes rely on public schools as a lifeline.

However, school voucher supporters began to emerge following the Lone Star State's primary on Super Tuesday as Abbott succeeded in gaining the victories of nine pro-voucher newcomers to the House, knocking down the previous nine fellow Republicans who opposed the program.

In an op-ed published by the Chronicle on Sunday titled, "Abbott's Super Tuesday triumph in voucher battle is no win for Texas" the newspaper's editorial board warned of the damage Abbott's "obsession" with school vouchers could do and wrote, "While Abbott exults, schools around the state—large and small, urban and rural—are grappling with massive budget deficits, thanks to Abbott's voucher obsession and a Legislature diverted during four sessions last year from meeting its constitutional obligation to adequately fund public schools."......
