Yeah my annual tick over happened the other day also Mike, but I still don't really think it (the body tells another story though), so I hope that you thoroughly enjoy it buddy. ;-) As for the wood splitter, I had to linish out a lot of metal from those blades to split our hardwoods that we use/get/grow here as the idea I grabbed it from was designed for European softwoods I reckon as I needed to get a pro's axe profile on those heads to do the job as the wood (and everything else) just bounced on the standard heavy shoulders of the edges that bloke used. I also had to make my own measurements up as none were provided in the clip or site so I based it on the longest piece of wood that I get delivered here and the hatchets that I could source in the number required (I certainly got a funny look from the girl at the checkout when I dumped down 8 hatches. I told her that they were for hatchet throwing competitions). All in all I think that we've done a pretty good job so far and I can't wait to get the 1st 1 finished up and painted in something bright. Anyhow it's now time for a rum or 2 before bed. :-D Cheers. |

That has been thought about Sten and I've been planning another splitter using an air assisted 20T bottle jack to split the big rounds that get dropped off here. ;-) Anyhow I'm going to enjoy this coffee now before I go downstairs to light the fire. Cheers. |

Thanks TL. Well it's all toasty downstairs now and after I do a bit of marking out I'll then be tacking the 2nd kindling splitter frame together. Cheers. |

The upper left coast is experiancing a heat wave, current temp is 91f and probably a bit warmer in nest few hours. The good news is my 2 1/2 year old mini split heat pump is easily keeping my house cool. |
