By the way, the killed hostages were held in tunnels in Rafah, the place that the US government wanted Israel not to enter. The false assumptions of critics and admonishers are becoming more apparent day by day.

Still trying to defend the father of Hamas? His people arn't.

Netanyahu asks 'forgiveness' over hostage deaths as protests continue.

Even Joe is losing trust in Adolf Benji (finally).

Biden says Netanyahu not doing enough to secure hostage deal.

And the U.K. also responds.

UK suspends some arms exports to Israel.

Adolf Benji is really going out of his way to infuriate many all over the world now. The sooner this mongrel is brought to justice the better off many will be.

This just a political statement, as the UK's arms exports to Israel only accounts for 0.4% of Israel's arms imports.

Yes I know how small that is, but it sends a message to other countries with a warning of them being found complaisant in Adolf Benji's war crimes.

Who is responsible for political statements to those who armed Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, ... ? I would like them to send a clear 'message'. It used to be (among others) the UK. No longer?

who armed Hamas

If you also include the infrastructure, then the UN and its supported charities, funded the building of the tunnels, underground command centers and hostage prisons, and the rockets made from water pipes.
And as the UN is 58% funded by OPEC countries, then probably you and me.

The fractures are starting to show.

US Contradicts Netanyahu on Key Issue at Heart of Gaza Ceasefire Dispute.

The White House has stated that achieving a ceasefire and hostage release deal in Gaza would necessitate Israeli forces withdrawing from a strategic corridor over which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly vowed to maintain control.

The Philadelphi Corridor lies on the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt and includes the Rafah crossing, and was seized by Israeli troops in early May as previous ceasefire negotiations fell through.

A three-phase proposal outlined by President Joe Biden later that same month called for the exit of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) from densely populated areas of Gaza that National Security Council communications adviser John Kirby affirmed Tuesday would include parts of the Philadelphi Corridor.

"The deal says that they have to remove the IDF from all densely populated areas in phase one," Kirby told reporters. "That includes densely populated areas around, or are adjacent to, the Philadelphia Corridor where it intersects with those densely populated areas.

"That's what the proposal says," he added. "That's the proposal that was put forth at the end of May. I'm not going to get into amendments one way or another, that have subsequently been discussed, I'm not going to negotiate this in public one way or the other."......

If the ceasefire means Israel withdraws from the Philadelphi Corridor, who is going to police the Gaza border with Egypt, to ensure weapons are not smuggled into Gaza.

Because if this does not happen then in a short time, we will be back in the same situation as before with Hamas firing rockets into Israel and Israel responding as usual. Probably causing many more deaths as Hamas hides behind the civilian population.

And the Palestinian supporters making lots of noise again about the deaths of the innocents.

Message 2140191 - Posted: 4 Sep 2024, 0:10:56 UTC - in response to Message 2140189.

Lots of proposals and amendments... Hamas did not take part in any of the negotiation rounds, only sent 'observers' in order to later cable conditions and amendments. That's not exactly what 'negotiation' meant. Hamas rejected (adding conditions...) all U.S. proposals which Israel previously accepted .

In the many months between Israel 'dared' to reach the corridor, took control of it and finally entered Rafah. All against the massive resistance and threats from Egypt and other Arab nations, least to forget the 'world public'. Israel became aware of the extensive tunnel network crossing the corridor and beneath Rafah and its use by Hamas for smuggling arms, hide rocket launchers and Israeli hostages in tunnel dungeons. There is no way back to rejected proposals from the past.

A proposal for a ceasefire is not meant to be put on hold... to conserve a certain state of conflict as a backstop against infavourable progress for one side. War creates a different reality every day. Has it ever been different? Now, these tunnels will be blown up first, each meter of them; Houses above tunnels will apparently not survive.

Following the 2005 retreat from Gaza Israel's initial plans envisaged a seawater-filled canal along the corridor to secure the border between Egypt and Gaza. Construction would have required the demolition of 1,500 Palestinian houses. Instead, Israel passed full control to Egypt, that is, allowed them to deploy a certain number of troops and arms into the demilitarized Sinai (1979 Israel-Egypt peace treaty). It was Egypt's responsibility to control this border and suppress military or terrorist activities. Egypt did not... or was incapable to adhere to this agreement.

Years ago, Egypt cleared the "densely populated area" adjacent to Rafah on the Egyptian side of the Philadelphi Corridor, demolished a village, all houses, expulged their inhabitants in a move to suppress the construction of smuggling tunnels. Protests from the West? None.

Any plan for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza now starts with a sufficiently wide (tunnel length/costs), completely void Philadelphi Corridor under Israel's control for decades to come. The US government should explain the goals of their proposal: Do they want to present a signed sheet of paper promising "Peace for our time"... for the upcoming two or three months? After which Hamas will shred it to pieces. Or do they also want to remove Hamas' ability to launch rocket terror and to send killer squads into Israel? Only the latter option enables 2M Gazans a different future. I'm afraid the Biden admin no longer cares. They only press Israel to achieve an arbitrary BS deal to secure domestic support from the ever growing pro-Palestine faction for upcoming presidential elections.

The west in its stupidity introduced a cancer into the middle east, nurtured and fed it to the point that it started feeding on Palestinians, but instead of curtailing that cancer it has continued to feed that cancer letting it grow out of control and the way that some speak they're quite happy to let this morally wrong stupid-go-round continue with ordinary Palestinians continuing to be the "meat in the sandwich" and I find that totally abhorrent.

We got rid of 1 moralless fascist mob only to create another.

The Palestinians deserve better than to be treated as less than equals (no better than animals in fact) who can have their lands and lives taken away at the whim of others who think that they are a superior race.

The last time I quoted the Old Testament here, I was scolded that any argument based on religious beliefs, or religious historical writings is inadmissible.

The problem is that the Quran, which all Arabs in Palestine follow, also contains many statements detailing how to deal with enemies which is: non-believers. The IS practiced this recently in the Middle East, ISIS all over the globe.

Arabs or Palestinians also believe that Islam is a superior religion and islamic societies or a islamic theocracy is superior, which is just as insane and deadly than ancient Jewish or Christian beliefs.

I'm pretty sure that Gary is absolutely not using this quote as an actual argument... he's providing an example of a quote that others do use as argument, without agreeing with this.

I think I can agree to most of Wiggo's rant while I'm afraid I didn't get each detail right... What is the cancer? Can we name it in a few points? It is not Israel OR Hamas alone. It is a more complex cancer.

I reject the argument only the West is responsible for 'a cancer'. To the same extent it is the Arab nations in the Middle East who are misusing Palestinians as a weapon to destroy Israel, resp. as a tool to permanently damage Israel's sovereignty, after these nations themselves have failed to do so several times in past decades. Palestinians are indeed "meat in the sandwich". Unfortunately, they are incapable to think about the situation they are locked in, distracted by daily misery. Each new generation is brainwashed by the elders with hatred and religious fanaticism. The west as well as rich Arab states financed UNRWA schools and books, thus 'brainwashing'. The narrative of the 'innocent Palestinians' does not hold when you look at it this way. They themselves in their families, in their religious and autonomy authorities are (also!) responsible for this hatred [*]. Hate and brainwashing is one of the cancers one can identify here. Jewish settlers' ideology is another.

[*] As well as unjustified violence, e.g. by IDF in the West Bank. Difficult to discern justified from unjustified violence there. Boundaries between both are blurred.

So you must eliminate the "brainwashed"

My point is that both sides are brainwashed. Each has a religion declaring themselves to be superior. (Actually the same religion, monotheism.)

Why 'eliminate'? Try 'enlighten'.

Enlighten them, that religion can't be allowed to be a government[*], neither for Palestinians nor Israelis. Hamas is the manifestation of the Islamist Muslim brotherhood in Gaza, the disfunct government of Gaza. Orthodox settler fanatics are PART OF Benji's government, but not THE government. It's about time to remove all fanatics from power. How? I have no idea.

How? I have no idea.
They can't be taught, as any attempt at such is by evil as defined by their belief. All you can do is contain them apart from the rest of the planet forever. Rather wasteful.

Perhaps Mad Max style two religions enter, no religion leaves?

Adolf Benji's cancerous mob continue with their atrocities as the West Bank comes more into focus.

US citizen killed in West Bank as Israeli military seemingly withdraws from Jenin.

A US citizen taking part in a protest against the settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank died of her wounds on Friday, after being shot in the head by Israeli troops, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

The Israeli military said it was looking into the report.

The United States said it was "urgently" seeking information on the woman's death.

"We offer our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. We are urgently gathering more information about the circumstances of her death and will have more to say as we learn more," State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said.

He identified the woman as Aysrnur Egzi Eygi and called her death "tragic," without immediately assigning responsibility.

Fouad Nafaa, the head of the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, said the woman arrived at the hospital in a very critical condition with a serious head injury.

"We tried to perform a resuscitation operation on her, but unfortunately she died," he said.

WAFA said the woman was killed during a regular protest march by activists in Beita, a town near the city of Nablus that has seen repeated attacks by settlers......
While the protests by his own people continue to grow against Adolf Benji's actions.

Netanyahu defies protests to dig in on ceasefire deal.

Turkish-American woman killed in West Bank amid protests
wrote:

Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a US citizen of Turkish descent, was shot by IDF near Nablus, which is a war zone. Since Oct 7th IDF is attacked there almost every day. IEDs are placed on streets or buried under roads. Several Israeli soldiers died or were injured there in the recent past. Anyone who thinks it is wise to protest against Israel in the context of violent clashes is wrong. It's madness. All are guilty: violent rioters... soldiers... Innocent deaths are the result. A soldier will put self-protection before protecting attackers. It is not a police unit on a US university campus facing a pro-Palestine group. A military occupation is a fact that must be ended diplomatically, not through protests or attacks against occupation forces.

Hersh Goldberg-Polin was also a US citizen. Which 'cancerous mob' killed him? Hamas... in a hostage dungeon below Rafah, a few days ago. But he was also a Jew.

The hostage Carmel Gat was murdered the same day. A German citizen... and a Jew. No statement, no condemnation, nothing could be heard from my government. Why wasn't she, a woman, released during the prisoner exchange in November? Because Hamas did not keep to the agreement.

The German Foreign Secretary (a leftist green), however, warns Israel almost every week. She is very worried about Gaza; why not also about Germans held hostage by Hamas?
