Why was isn't done long ago for the right reasons?

Infamous Ohio doctor who said vaccines make people magnetic could be suspended.

.....In June 2021, Sherri Tenpenny went before the Ohio House Health Committee to warn lawmakers about what she believed to be the unspoken dangerous consequences of Covid-19 vaccines. She did so at the request of state GOP Rep. Jennifer Gross, according to Cleveland.com's Friday report.

"While doing so, Tenpenny uncorked a firehose of untrue and misleading claims about vaccination," the local outlet reported. "She baselessly linked vaccines to diseases like ALS and cancer, and made her now-infamous remarks about vaccines (which unequivocally do not magnetize their recipients)."

“I’m sure you’ve seen the pictures all over the internet of people who have had these shots and now they’re magnetized,” Tenpenny said at the time. “They can put a key on their forehead and it sticks … There have been people who have long suspected there’s an interface, yet to be defined, an interface between what’s being injected in these shots and all of the 5G towers.

The bill failed, but the State Medical Board of Ohio reportedly contacted Tenpenny about five weeks after her testimonial comments for unspecified reasons. She didn't respond to those requests, leading to the potential discipline she's facing, according to Cleveland.com's report.

"In other words, Tenpenny risks have her license suspended not for her vaccine commentary but for refusing to cooperate with a state investigation that launched shortly afterward," the outlet reported. "The state has never explained what prompted it to start an investigation into Tenpenny in the first place."

sorry for the second post, couldn't find a transcript.

And every war must end in devastation.

For the communists there must never be a compromise.
Never a settlement of disputes
only conflict.

The communists are good at making propaganda in a big noisy way

For a communist a thing is true only if it advances the communist cause
it is false if it does not.

The line between authoritarian communism and authoritarian fascism is a very blurry little 1 indeed. ;-)

Well there that 1 gone, will any more follow?

US authorities 'auction' First Republic Bank to JPMorgan after second biggest bank failure in history.

.US regional bank First Republic had a little more than $US200 billion ($301 billion) worth of assets and around 7,000 employees, so it was a large, San Francisco-based bank.

For context, Lehman Brothers — before it collapsed in 2008, which sparked the global financial crisis — had roughly $US600 billion worth of assets.

Shares in First Republic Bank crashed on Wall Street on Friday, due to fears the financial health of the bank was in doubt.

Its stock price fell 75 per cent early last week on news that customers had withdrawn $US100 billion in deposits amid the onset of the banking crisis.

The stock price crashed again on Friday.

It was all too much for the bank to survive.

The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) said early Monday evening that regulators had seized First Republic Bank.

DFPI appointed the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as receiver of First Republic and said it accepted a bid from JPMorgan Chase Bank.

In short, the bank was officially wound up by the authorities and then immediately "sold" to JPMorgan to prevent a global financial contagion.....

First Republic was a bit of a strange animal for a bank. It marketed itself to very high wealth individuals and businesses. Hot cookies when you went into the branch to talk to a banker. Few of its accounts were below the FDIC insurance limit. As such when rumors started, huge amounts were withdrawn, in part because of the bungle of SVB.

As to who is next, look to any bank that courted high wealth accounts. When you have 10M on deposit you aren't going to stick around to collect 250k in insurance.

Also mergers are a big contributing factor. People opened up accounts in say 20 different banks to be insured. Post mergers those 20 accounts are now all in one bank and not insured as a result. The FDIC insurance program need to be brought forward from the great depression era rules.

Thank goodness, the loony leprechaun has gone.

Outgoing Qantas boss’ tearful reflection as airline’s first female CEO announced.

He's taken our national carrier (QANTAS) under his leadership from top of the list down to 6th last year (and this year it could be even further down), but sadly he isn't leaving our shores as he's rumoured to be looking at another Aussie company to damage.

Can his replacement fix the problems that he's caused and fix the airline's much damaged reputation in age of fleet, general quality, safety and service (not the mention the very low morale amongst its workers)?

Another big twist in U.S. banking.

Officials looking into investors targeting big US banks to make 'easy money'.

US authorities are now looking into whether big investment firms are targeting, or attacking, otherwise healthy banks to make a profit.

Federal and state officials are assessing whether "market manipulation" caused the recent volatility in banking shares, Reuters is exclusively reporting.

The White House had vowed to monitor "short-selling pressures on healthy banks".

Short-selling is a complex trading strategy but, in short, it is one way investors — including hedge funds — can profit from a fall in the value of a stock.

There has recently been a sharp increase in short-selling.

It has coincided with extraordinary falls in the share price of several regional US banks — including First Republic, PacWest and Western Alliance – by as much as 50 per cent in one day.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the Biden administration was closely watching the situation, but any possible action would be taken by the US market regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)......

I'm sorry Chucky, but maybe they should conduct 2 referendums at the same time instead of 1.

Calls for Australia to become a republic have intensified after King Charles III’s Coronation, with some wanting the 74-year-old to be dumped as Head of State.

I look forward to News Corp Australia pushing their candidate for President, one Lachlan Murdoch.

If I was asked to 'tip' on a self checkout machine I would walk out, not pay & leave my products/order behind.

They should PAY ME FOR DOING THE JOB THAT WAS TAKEN AWAY BY THE MACHINE.

'It's emotional blackmail!': Shoppers rage over being asked to tip at SELF-CHECKOUT machines - but where does the cash go?
Shoppers have complained they are increasingly being asked to tip at self-checkout machines - despite having zero interaction with an employee.

Cash registers at airports, stadiums, shops and cafes are reportedly asking customers if they wish to add tips of up to 20 percent.

The revelation comes amidst widespread backlash over 'tipflation' which has seen tipping culture spill out from bars and restaurants and into coffee shops and take-away stores.

But the decision to implement the cues at self-service machines has forced shoppers to ask who the money is even for - as experts speculate it is a cynical way for customers to generate more profit.

Ishita Jamar, a senior at American University at Washington D.C., told the Wall Street Journal: 'They’re cutting labor costs by doing self-checkout. So what’s the point of asking for a tip? And where is it going?'

Yeo, my sentiments exactly.
I used to use them years ago at Tesco's & Asda's.
Stopped using them after numerous issues with the machines constantly chiming in saying item not in bag or bag not on.
Much simpler to do own bagging at cashier attended checkout.
Some dumb machine asks me to "voluntary" tip it - KMA.

Well this story is likely to change some minds.

An Australian royal superfan says she was arrested and held in a cell for 13 hours during the coronation after a big police mistake.

An Australian royal superfan says she was arrested and held in a cell for 13 hours during the coronation after police mistook her for a Just Stop Oil protester.

Alice Chambers, 36, told the I Newspaper she was alone on The Mall in Central London on Saturday eagerly awaiting a glimpse of King Charles III when she was suddenly handcuffed by Metropolitan Police officers.

The architect, who has lived in London for seven years, said she had no idea she was sitting beside the group because they had not started protesting.

She was among around a dozen people arrested on suspicion of “potential to cause a breach of the peace” at around 9am.......
That'll add more ammo to the republican movement here.

I was going to say - Unbelievable - unfortunatesly, that would only have applied 50 years ago.
She claims that soon after joining the trust, Mr Haythornthwaite - a former BBC accountant - sought to "intervene and influence, and ultimately to control, many operational matters" beyond the scope of his job.
No wonder the NHS is in trouble
