The other day I was going to fix myself a hamburger but discovered I was out of frozen hamburger patties. But I did have some burger size sausage patties, So I cooked a sausage pattie and fixed what was otherwise a hamburger with all the trimmings. It was delicious. I am surprised that as far as I know, no restaurant offers this type of sandwich.

Well it looks like someone beat me to it. I think it would do well here too.

Bob,

Does that mean you've lost the chance of starting a DeWoodyWich chain or are you still going ahead with it?

Stranger things have happened. I think I would call it the woodburger. But no, at the age of 72, I have no interest in starting a fast food chain.

None, unless the chemists could make it taste like pork. ;)

I'm sure at least one of the major fragrance & taste companies will have done that already.....

I wonder which fast-food chain is using that? Or is it all of them?

Hmmmmm

If and when food chemists can make plant based material look and TASTE like beef, pork, chicken, turkey and etc. I would be willing to give them a try. The last time I tried vegetable based artificial meat I concluded that they have a long way to go before fake meat will fool most people. I would love to see the day when livestock is kept only to show the way we used to live.

Yep. That's for real.

That puts a whole new meaning to the term "bonfire burgers"!!

Enjoy?

If you believe everything you read on the internet, even some stuff that looks "official" I think maybe you are in for some rude awakenings.

If this is true then I'm so glad that the two butchers I use make their own burgers, without such adulteration. Just meat, with a bit of seasoning, and maybe some cheese.
(Oh, sorry to say Bob, but one of them did a pork burger a few years back, and a proper bacon burger (yes, ground up smoky bacon). I have to say that they were more a novelty than a success, far too greasy for my liking.)

Burger King has the “Impossible Whopper”. I like it some but it has two things against it. It is a dry fake patty with no juicyness in it. And number 2 is the meal is north of $9.00.

Well all that sawdust has soaked up all the juice.
And, why charge a cent for a pile of sawdust when you charge eight hundred and ninety eight cents for the sawdust and two cents for the rest....

i have to admit that I haven't tried the "impossible" whopper since I believe that an all vegetable meat patty is impossible.. Maybe someday food chemists will be able to create substitute meat to be served in FTL spaceships.
