This will not make PooTin any happier, but he has no one else to blame for his stupidity.

Ukraine and US sign 10-year security deal as G7 leaders pledge $US50 billion loan package to Kyiv.

But it's only fair that Russia should foot the bill for Ukraine's defence and reconstruction.

I pretty much ignore and pass over your posts because I never thought there would come a time when I would agree with you, but this time I I do. :)

2 more of PooTin's orcs are wanted.

Russian Leaders Accused of War Crimes, Arrest Warrants Issued.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Russia's former Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and its Chief of Staff General Valery Gerasimov.

The court's accusations against Shoigu and Gerasimov include war crimes and crimes against humanity, specifically citing inhumane acts. Judges supporting the warrants indicated there is substantial evidence suggesting the suspects "intentionally caused great suffering or serious injury to body or to mental or physical health" of Ukrainian civilians.....
As PooTin takes yet another hit to his plans.

Russia Dealt Payments Blow by Top China Bank.

One of China's top lenders has dealt Russia's economy a significant blow by suspending transactions with Russian banks sanctioned by the U.S. over the invasion of Ukraine, according to Russian media.

The Russia division of the Bank of China, which focuses on payments denominated in yuan (RMB), has stopped processing payments in the Chinese currency starting Monday, Russian daily newspaper Kommersant cited financial sector sources as saying. The Russian and Chinese foreign ministries did not immediately respond to written requests for comment.

ICBC, China CITIC Bank, and most other Chinese banks have made similar actions in response to U.S. secondary sanctions introduced to punish entities doing business with Russian firms in sectors that could support the country's military supply chain.....

PooTin Complains that No One Will Help Russia.

PooTin has complained that no one will help Russia as it wages war against Ukraine.

The Russian president said that his country can "only rely on ourselves" as he addressed military personnel gathered at the Grand Kremlin Palace's St George Hall.

In remarks filmed and published on Telegram by state TV, he talked about the need for a stable economy in Russia to support its Ministry of Defense Offense......

Unlike the Serbian mass murderers of the 1990s, we will never see any of those responsible for the atrocities in Ukraine brought to justice. Before Russia (and its subsequent administrations after Putin) expose themselves, these figures will disappear and be untraceable forever.

PooTin and his Nazi orcs hit a new low with their last war crime.

Russia launches hypersonic missile attack on children’s hospital in Kyiv.

PooTin wants to make Ukraine his “property” but not its people; the world has been desperately warned overnight.

A Russian hypersonic missile attack on Kyiv and other areas of Ukraine, targeting a children’s hospital and killing at least 36 people across the country and injuring 137, has been labelled “genocide” by the besieged nation’s leaders.

Putin’s forces hit the capital on Monday morning, local time, with rescuers desperately digging through the rubble for survivors.

Russia said claims it hit civilian targets are “absolutely untrue”. However, footage has emerged of a missile slamming into a building......

Whoever agreed to transfer the permanent UNSC seat of the USSR (1991: 290 million inhabitants) exclusively to Russia (150 million), thus stripping Ukraine (50 million) as well as Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan (together another ~50 million) from their former power (BY & UA still nuclear powers back then), made an inexplicable mistake. At that moment the foundation of the UNSC was destroyed. Was it just pity for the humiliated, defeated enemy? But why did they ignore Russia's imperial past, the Russian sense of superiority towards all non-Russian union citizens (and Poles, Finns, ...)? This is exactly what diplomats learn in their professional training: the history, customs and traditions of the countries they are sent to. Not to speak of intelligence agencies... The seat of the USSR should have either been lost in 1991 or exercised jointly from then on.

It is now outrageous to endure Russia's Council Presidency; this endless series of lies and propaganda. Russia is mocking all other UNSC members, China included.

There are many clear videos of Russian cruise missiles, their exact model clearly identifiably, which turned the children's hospital to rubble. The Russian UNSC's presidency Nebenzya asserts it was a Norwegian "NASAMS" rocket (a small air defense warhead?) that destroyed the hospital, telling the council he is waiting for reactions from Norway's government. This UNSC is finished... meaningless... pure waste of time and money.

There's 1 growing problem that PooTin has that he can't hide.

Russia Rushes To Expand Cemeteries Amid Rising War Casualties.

Russia has massively increased state spending to construct new cemeteries since launching a full-scale invasion of neighboring Ukraine more than two years ago, according to analysis by an independent Russian publication.

Last year, Russian authorities spent more than 225 million rubles ($2.5 million) on cemetery expansion projects, which is twice as much as in 2022 and almost six times more than in 2020, data from Russia's official state procurement portal showed, The Moscow Times reported on July 19.

By June this year, 136 million rubles ($1.5 million) had already been spent on cemetery expansion, the publication said.......

It's ok when PooTin does it to others, but he blows a fuse when the tables are turned.

Russia stunned as Ukraine launches ‘massive attack’.

Russia is battling a major cross-border incursion from Ukraine.

It’s the most serious attack on Russian territory by Kyiv’s forces in months that prompted both countries to evacuate several thousand civilians.

A local state of emergency was introduced in Russia’s Kursk region on Wednesday evening, 36 hours after Ukrainian soldiers, tanks and armoured vehicles stormed into the western border region.

Russia said it launched air and artillery firepower to repel the attack throughout Wednesday, after having rushed reinforcements to the region in a bid to halt what it dubbed a “massive attack” from Ukrainian forces.

The Kremlin has been trying to strike the balance between discrediting “Ukraine internationally for conducting this attack into Russian territory” and avoiding “inciting domestic panic about the scale, impacts, and potential outcomes of the Ukrainian operation”, the Institute for the Study of War wrote.

Various Russian military bloggers have slammed Russia’s military command for detecting the attack.....

As the Ukrainian advance continues in the Kursk region reports are of swarms of drones being used ahead of the push to give advanced intel and to eliminate obstacles in their path along with footage coming out of Russian reinforcement columns being totally obliterated with hundreds of dead Russian soldiers everywhere as well as Russian troops surrendering on Russian soil to those Ukrainian soldiers. The lights are also out in several areas of the region as a huge substation is also taken out.

What surprises me most last week was this complete change of mind in the German government:

„Wir haben der Ukraine Waffen zur Verfügung gestellt, die mit der Übergabe als Teil der militärischen Ausrüstung der Ukraine betrachtet werden. Selbstverständlich steht es der Ukraine frei, diese Ausrüstung uneingeschränkt zu nutzen“
"We have provided Ukraine with weapons which, upon handover, will be considered part of Ukraine's military equipment. Of course, Ukraine is free to use this equipment without restrictions,", Ullrich Lechte, FDP spokesman for Foreign Affairs. FDP is part of the German ruling coalition.

„Eine ausdrückliche Genehmigung Deutschlands ist dafür nicht erforderlich, da der Einsatz der Waffen durch die Ukraine im Einklang mit dem Völkerrecht erfolgt.“
“An explicit authorization from Germany is not required for this, as the use of the weapons by Ukraine is in accordance with international law.”

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defense made clear who has the authority over weapons transferred from Bundeswehr’s stocks:
„Das sind ukrainische Waffen“
“These are Ukrainian weapons".

Source: Ukraine may use German weapons in Russia “without restrictions” (in German only)

German made tanks (which moreover 'look German') storming eastward through Ukrainian steppe into Russia touch on a taboo that has existed for almost 80 years. When the Soviets militarily ended the 'Prague Spring' (anti-communist uprising) in 1968, the prepositioned East German tank units (Soviet tank models) at the Czech borders did not invade territory of the CSSR, unlike the tanks of the other Warsaw Pact states. They threatened but stayed back on German territory. At that time, the taboo remained.

He must also be running out of generals.

PooTin Puts Former Bodyguard in Charge of Kursk Defense.
There are lots of highly decorated 'generals'.

Putin deeply distrusts all army leaders. He was teached to to so all his professional life as a KGB agent. This stems from the DNA of the Cheka, the secret police, originates in the Tsarist Empire and continued through the Soviet era. The army is the only power that can overthrow the Tsar and his Praetorian Guard. So he entrusts a loyal KGB man he personally knows since decades. He has zero military experience, but will never abuse command authority to overthrow [*] the Tsar. The military leaders, in turn, deeply distrust such secret police people in command, since in Russian history it was always them, who eliminated the independent-minded military leaders (liquidated, gulag or exiled to Siberia), regardless of their competence.

The Russian Tsars repeat the same mistakes over and over again.

[*] This late Prigoshyn figure (former Wagner boss) tried to blackmail the Tsar but wasn't prepared or not courageous enough to overthrow him. At the time, it was observed that the military leaders would not have hindered such a rebellion, instead remained passive.

Mind you this war could've done with by now if the Ukraine wasn't hamstrung by conditions right at the start.
I don't believe that. Russia is a vast country and a large society with plenty of ressources (human as well as industrial ones). ...and thousands of nuclear warheads.

The tragedy for Ukraine is that from day one its supporters have been 'dispensing' support so that Putin is not forced into a dead end with no way out to save face. A catastrophic defeat, e.g. even if only symbolic (like the Crimea bridge) would perhaps be a dead end. Nobody knows in advance. Probably people in Ukraine's government and military can judge it best. There are different opinions in the West (of hawks as well as doves... aah not to forget of slimy eels) about what the right amount of support is, and these opinions are constantly changing. And mind that whether hawk or dove, both have to justify their decisions to the electorate. Putin does not need to do that. In WW2, the Allied war aims were agreed years in advance: all-in, total defeat, unconditional surrender, occupation of the aggressor. How should this war end? What outcome is acceptable or even desirable for the West? For Ukraine? For Russia? (I suspect no one in the US administration wishes for a 1994 scenario of rapid desintegration or a revolution like 1917).

The key point is: unpredictable, unscrupulous, imperialist aggressors in autocratic regimes must not control nuclear arms. This complicates affairs enormously.

The interesting thing with that is: The Russian soldiers personal belongings are burned thoroughly. All they can do is to instantly run away, leaving all their stuff behind.

Protective vests, clothing, radio equipment, computers, drones; self-built shelters. Most soldiers pay lots of money for this stuff themselves. Their families help to buy good-quality uniforms, shoes, helmets, jackets from shops connected to corrupt military logistics officers. Because of excessive corruption the Russian Army is often unable to provide soldiers with high-quality personal equipment. Instead it is the soldiers' initiative to get the stuff in order to survive. Now Ukraine is burning this privatetly aquired stuff down and they are left homeless in the field with nothing, knowing that their commanders cannot and will not help them to replace lost equipment.

Ukraine finds new ways each month to expose the unbelievable gaps in the Russian material supply on battle grounds. In NATO they teach: War is a battle of materials..., of supplies. In Russia, they think it is just a question of tanks, cannons, grenades. To this day, in their narrative of victory in WWII, they forget the gigantic amount of simple goods that the Western Allies supplied them with.
