My bet:
If Putin's power should ever collapse, he will simply disappear. With enough money, protected by an ultra-loyal small Praetorian Guard, he adopts a new identity and goes into hiding somewhere in Russia. He had all ressources (FSB, police, government) and years to prepare for this event. He changes appearance, hair, beard growth. Those who know where he's hiding have been bribed with enough money to far exceed any reward.

The wanted war criminal and President of Bosnian Serbs Karadzic hid in Serbia for 12 years before arrest. With a full white beard and aged, he was unrecognizable. His military chief, Mladic, went into hiding in Serbia for 15 years. The Serbian government could not or did not want to find the gentlemen. And large circles of supporters of these ultra-nationalists exist in Serbia to this day.
