Gosh, last week the Ukrainians were neo-Nazis (who somehow elected a Jewish president) and this week they've gone right to the other deep end and are "woke". It's almost like what happened to Russian politics. Every accusation is a confession as usual.

Russian soldiers captured by Ukrainian forces claim they’re “already considered dead” at home and fear they’ll face a firing squad if they’re sent back by exchange.

One soldier, speaking at a press conference in Kyiv, said that he had been told by his parents that a funeral had already been prepared for him, The Telegraph reports.

The soldier, deployed with Russia’s 2nd Motor Rifle Division, said: “In Russia, we are already considered dead. I was given the opportunity to call my parents and they told me that a funeral for me had already been arranged.

“If we are exchanged, then we will be shot by our own people.”...

Putin is pushing the attacks further west each day. maybe someone will slip up and lob a missile or a bomb into Poland who is a NATO member,

I am not surprised by this... morale is very low, many Russian soldiers are well-aware they were lied to about the reasons for the invasion (many even that they would be fighting Ukrainians) and many deserted early on, so I wager their commanders have threatened them that if they are captured it will be treated as of dereliction of duty and can result in execution.

I listened to some of that Security Council session yesterday - it was broadcast live on BBC TV. At least, some of the countries' representatives were broadcast: the BBC clearly thought that other countries were less important, and moved away to other news.

Each country simply read out a list of their pre-prepared assertions. No evidence, no debate - no sign that anyone was actually hearing what the other side was saying. As a public exhibition, it was pretty depressing. Let's hope that they took their responsibilities more seriously in private session.

Russian cosmonauts arrive in space wearing colours of the Ukrainian flag

Three Russian cosmonauts have arrived at the International Space Station wearing flight suits in the colours of the Ukrainian flag, in what appears to be a bold statement of support for the nation that is currently battling a Russian invasion.

They were the first new arrivals on the space station since the start of the Russian war in Ukraine last month.

A video showed the men – Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveyev and Sergey Korsakov, of Russian space corporation Roscosmos – wearing blue and white suits before blasting off on Friday.

When they arrived, they had changed and boarded the space station wearing yellow suits with blue accents.

However, asked about the suits once they arrived at the ISS – where they joined American, Russian and German crew – they did not mention Ukraine.

Brilliant and a brave move.
