Well the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project is dead in the water while sanctions on five Russian banks and three Russian individuals go into action as Tanks roll into Ukraine as Europe makes first big moves. U.S. will sanction Russian financial firms, sovereign debt and individuals after Ukraine incursion. |

One question. In the long or short run has appeasement ever worked? The best that could be said about Neville Chamberlain's appeasement actions was that they bought some time for England to arm up. From my reading of history, Appeasement is useful for a brief delay but is never anything more than procrastination into ever greater future pain... Note: Putin, as for various other dictators, do not think beyond the utility of their 'expendables' (people)... Hard harsh cruel reality: Psychopaths have never learnt the beauty of caring about, or caring for, people. They really do not have the brain circuitry for such feelings. No arguing or reasoning is possible. There simply is not the awareness there about the feelings of people for any meaningful discussion to be possible. Totally coldly numbingly unbelievably chilling. Is it possible that the Russian people over the last twenty years or so have been exposed to the western world enough to resist a move to put things back the way they were during the cold war? So, I guess that means that all of the YouTube videos that depict everyday life in Russia is pretty much the same as it is anywhere else in europe or at least eastern europe is just well supervised propaganda choreographed to appear like things are better than they really are. I would have hoped that exposure to a freer way of living would have spawned a need for more freedom in everyday life. Now this is really worrying. Ukraine sees radiation spike in Chernobyl after Russia attack. Ukrainian authorities said that radiation levels had increased in the Chernobyl exclusion zone and warned the seizure of the nuclear plant by invading Russian troops could have “terrible consequences.” |

Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, "Vlad the Invader" intends to rebuild the USSR while the USSE argue over sanctions. Wonder how their "mythical" EU army would have dealt with the situation? Very large protest demonstrations have, and continue to take place in a number of cities throughout Russia These are occurring , even in the face of mass arrests. Many highly placed civic authorities in Russia have signed a statement opposing this wrongful war of choice against Ukraine. A whole platoon of Russian motorcycle reconnaissance soldiers have surrendered to the Ukrainian authorities. They said that they were told they were on a peacekeeping mission. They did not bargain on a bloody war of conquest again a sovereign nation of fellow-Slavs. Against a much stronger adversary, Ukrainian soldiers have turned back invading Russian forces from various strategically important places near the Ukraine-Russian frontier. These include an airport near Kyiv, and a bridge in the South of Ukraine. Both were needed by the Russian military to continue their invasion. Mr. Putin is mistaken in his assertion that Ukraine is a sham nation, with no right to exist. It has resisted assaults on its sovereignty by conquerors, for centuries, as real historians have now repeatedly pointed out. |

Now this is total madness and gross. Russia has mobile crematoriums that can “evaporate” dead soldiers to mask the true number killed in its war with Ukraine, according to a report. But things may not be so rosy at home for Putin. Russian citizens take to the streets for a 2nd night as the country aims to quash resistance to its Ukrainian invasion. |

This is, unfortunately, a lot more than just Putin's "game". The lives of many people live or die by Putin's supposed "game". Also, the next games at play by Jinping and (whatever Ayatollahs of) Iran follow on from the gaming seen for Ukraine... Appeasement has never been seen to lessen strife and death... Sadly, Putin has chosen to chase the rites of a Madman to chase trial-by-death. Here's hoping the ENTIRE WORLD rallies to a positive rescue. Stay safe folks!
