But have you looked at the "Total Cost of Ownership".

Fuel costs lower, can be very small if you have solar panels.

Electric motors have fewer moving parts than ICE and therefore cheaper maintenance and servicing costs.

And if you drive in a big city where they are taxing road use heavily for carbon fueled vehicles and nil payment for electric then there is another saving.

And in the UK the cost or insurance for electric cars has come down in recent years and it is now cheaper for the electric cars in comparison to similar petrol (gas) cars.

Now, now, go easy there, that could be far too much for some to comprehend. ;-)
