Here's a real world real life example of what could have happened and what can happen... Red squirrels: Vaccine call to save animal from killer pox wrote: Wales' red squirrels face being wiped out by a deadly virus unless a vaccine is developed... That parallels a similar story for COVID where as many as two thirds of our population that were infected showed no symptoms ("asymptomatic"). They then quickly spread the COVID virus far and wide to kill off others in our population... A very strange pair of cases?... Stay healthy folks! Ongoing... Another article noting our excess death rate: Covid still significant as mortality rate jumps wrote: ... shows that there were around 171,600 more deaths from all causes than expected between the start of the pandemic and the end of March 2023... And yet, there almost appears to be a news embargo on anything ongoing covid... Can a pandemic be swept under the political carpet?? There must be a better more healthy way? Stay healthy folks! Well I got my 5th shot today with the latest Moderna version and I'm feeling boosted. ;-) |

Well I'm fully vaxxed up. An epidemiologist has issued a fresh warning to Aussies to stay vigilant this winter as Covid cases are expected to soar. Mind you winter is already here in the highlands. |

The COVID-19 virus mutated to outsmart key antibody treatments. Better ones are coming As pandemic slows and COVID-19 funding dwindles, researchers worry companies won’t have incentives to bring improved antibodies to market |

Unfortunately lingering on... Trump-style ("Testing too much gives too high numbers!"), the UK has reduced the testing for covid and has abandoned random sampling. So we now have no idea what proportion of the population are carrying and spreading whatever covid variants... All we do have is the false reassurance of: The official UK government website for data and insights on coronavirus (COVID-19) That lists for today that of 34858 covid tests made in the last week, 2540 gave positive to give a rate of (2540/34858) 7% infected for those tested. There's still a lot of covid being passed around even though this is no longer mentioned by the news and all the sheep have long forgotten... Stay healthy folks! ... the same here. It's no longer a pandemic. The virus gets endemic in the whole population. A specific proportion bears the virus, maybe more during winter season, like the flu. Authorities don't care about the virus and new variants. I don't know if this is right or wrong. |

... My worry is the lack of insight for why we still have +10% extra deaths, and significantly that is spread across all ages, and why we have so many extra people off ill from work, and why we seem to be accumulating ever more people suffering long term illness... What is happening and why? And why is nothing being done about unhealthy enclosed spaces spreading airborne disease?... (Unfortunately, for the general population, masks have proven to be 'impractical'...) Stay healthy folks! Having just had a nasty chest infection, and not testing positive for COVID, there must be some other bugs lurking around. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

There are always other bugs lurking around looking for a host that will allow them in.. Ten years ago it was MERSA, now it;s COVID-19. There are millions of people that kill the food they eat, especially in Africa and Asia. It is possible that much of the wild game that is consumed is infected with some virus or other contagin. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

It is possible that much of the wild game that is consumed is infected with some virus or other contagin. Not just possible but near certain. If you ingest such a diet all your life likely your immune system has much better defenses than first world sterile food persons. |

But note the high number of Native Americans who died when they came into contact with viral infections from Europe. I believe this has decimated smaller nations to the brink of extinction (e.g. smallpox). Their diet didn't help them prepare their immune systems for unknown viruses from remote continents. Until the jet age, long ship crossings and quarantine stations in ports helped to keep things under control. With today's air links to/from every provincial town in the world, there is no protection anymore. It doesn't matter if you eat natural or sterile junk food. The next Covid-like virus will get you.It is possible that much of the wild game that is consumed is infected with some virus or other contagin. Not just possible but near certain. If you ingest such a diet all your life likely your immune system has much better defenses than first world sterile food persons. It would be useful to keep a constant eye on the virus strains in commonly consumed wild animals around the world (WHO?) and all countries must allow transparent data exchange, including China. Rich countries should also finance programs to keep an eye on wild animals such as monkeys, bats, etc. deep in the jungles of Africa, S America, SE Asia. |

... My worry is the lack of insight for why we still have +10% extra deaths, and significantly that is spread across all ages, and why we have so many extra people off ill from work, and why we seem to be accumulating ever more people suffering long term illness...What Martin is addressing here: Many people died from virus infection and many died from vaccine damage, from thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, cerebral thrombosis. This has happened with a variety of vaccines. These all only had emergency approval and had not been tested and assessed over many years like vaccines for other diseases. Politicians exerted a lot of pressure during the pandemic, discussed compulsory vaccination, bought vaccines for billions of Euros without tenders. Nobody wants to discuss possible errors publicly and seriously at the moment. Critics are quickly branded as troublemakers. The virus is still there, even though the entire population has been immunized (through vaccination or infection). And here, too, significantly more people are dying, a significant number are ill for a long time, including younger ones. This should be investigated, with no ban on thinking. What's the reason, the virus or the vaccines? Both are probably the cause. But no one knows to what extent. [EDIT:] I'm no opponent.... fully vaxxed and boostered... |

Are those numbers high? Smallpox decimated Europe as well and several times. Europe at that time was not any more sterile than the native population. Of course in the case of small pox the settlers intentionally infected the natives, so I'm not sure how that one applies. But note the high number of Native Americans who died when they came into contact with viral infections from Europe. Salk polio vaccine began large scale testing in 1954 and was approved for use in April 1955 so we are talking months, not years. |

... from thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, cerebral thrombosis... Those are deadly symptoms that covid itself causes... And all the more severe if your immune system was never primed in the first place... There are multiple threads to untangle for the (proportions of) actual causes. Unfortunately, the general soundbites News ('Entetainment' corps) push loud soundbites of the misery of the symptoms and completely miss what people should really be informed about... The evidence is very good that the vaccines kept a lot of people out of hospital and away from an early death. However... (For a BIG "However"...) How does this story unfold and why? Of course in the case of small pox the settlers intentionally infected the natives, so I'm not sure how that one applies.I meant 'high' in relation to the small size of many of these nations. Epidemics easily completely destroy the social fabric and force the abandonment of settlements, the merger with other tribes. My example was accidently. Some weeks ago I read about the Mandan & Hidatsa tribes in North Dakota. Their history (too long, I stopped reading...) since the 1800s has been one of steady decline due to violent smallpox epidemics, casualties in battles with enemy tribes (and the US cavalry). |

Are you sure? Salk polio vaccine began large scale testing in 1954 and was approved for use in April 1955 so we are talking months, not years.Hmmm, I lack knowledge to defend my argument. I mean crossing plants is a genetic change. The editing of plant genes by modern biotechnology as well. The former is ancient knowledge, the risks can be assessed. The editing of genes in RNA parts of viruses (Moderna and Biontech vaccines) is very new, the risks may not yet be fully known. Therefore, today's approval processes for vaccines are complex, lengthy and very expensive, which in turn led to giants like Pfizer. I don't know if this comparison is unfair in relation to polio vaccine from the 1950s made from inactivated (killed) virus samples (surely much more complex than crossing plants). I once read something about a modern meningitis vaccine my son was injected with. Its development and approval took 12 years.... I don't know more about vaccines. |

Why the 12 years is likely much more important than the number 12. If the first 11 were because it wasn't effective ... Remember to be approved it has to work and has to be safe. |
