Health officials said Wisconsin deer hunters should wear masks when they field-dress their deer this year.
That's leading Wisconsin health officials to issue new guidance with the gun deer season starting this weekend.
Hunters are told, "When handling and cleaning the carcass: wear rubber or disposable gloves. And wear a mask."
"There's just not a lot of scenarios where I can imagine a human being that close to a deer for respiratory droplets to spread?" WISN 12 News reporter Terry Sater asked.
"You're right. It is surprising," University of Wisconsin veterinarian and epidemiologist Dr. Tony Goldberg said.
Goldberg said hunters should take a "better safe than sorry" approach after recent studies showed COVID-19 spreading in deer.

I'll also add a third 1 being that, many different breeds of stressed animals are being densely packed together. ;-)
