I got this link via a mailing list:

https://www.techrepublic.com/article/11-things-to-do-when-you-get-windows-11

Seems like a reasonable checklist - you may not feel like checking every one of them, but worth preserving for when the day comes.

A mini-fixit for Windows 11:

11 Worst Features of Windows 11 and How to Fix Them

That actually covers a few trivial tweaks for:

  • A few user-interface desktop tweaks;
  • The TPM requirements;
  • And untangling from the Microsoft bundled web browser and cloud drive entanglement.

Enjoy!

How to roll back Windows 11 and return to Windows 10

NOTE: YOU ONLY HAVE 10 DAYS AFTER THE UPDATE TO REVERT BACK

For 10 days after Microsoft replaces Windows 10 with Windows 11, users may roll back to the previous OS using recovery files stored on their hard drives. After only 10 days, those files are not useable and will eventually be deleted to reclaim some storage space. Within those 10 days, however, the recovery process is relatively painless.

Oops! Microsoft has done it again.

Expired cert breaks Windows 11 snipping tool, emoji panel, S Mode features, other stuff

And we're talking about shipped code, not some Insider beta, here

It has proved an unfortunate Halloween for Microsoft, with the ghost of an expired certificate haunting Windows 11 users. The upshot is: various built-in programs may stop working properly or cannot be opened at all

My QuChemPedIA@home project which was stopped on September 30 for a security certificate issue, then solved by Dave Anderson with the 7.11.20 versionof Boinc, is crunching happily on Windows 11 home edition.

How Windows 11 makes updates so much smaller
Basically, Microsoft is using a newer feature they started using on Windows 10 called
"differentials" by only downloading patch files with instructions on what needs to be changed in specific files.

And Microsoft descends back into anti-competitive dirty old ways:

Microsoft blocks workarounds that let user{s} avoid Edge browser in Windows 11
wrote:
... Microsoft appears to have taken some more aggressive steps in its efforts to push Windows 11 users to adopt its Edge browser...

... "The 500,000 EdgeDeflector users were probably never more than a nuisance to Microsoft," Aleksandersen said.

"However, last month both the Brave and Firefox web browsers either copied EdgeDeflector's functionality or signalled it was on the roadmap."

Because Firefox has 200 million users, it likely led Microsoft to think about patching the workaround and force users to open "microsoft edge://" links via its own browser.

Microsoft said the new functionality will arrive for all Windows 11 users in a software update in the coming weeks.

For Aleksandersen, this is a breach of antitrust law. "These aren't the actions of an attentive company that cares about its products anymore,"...

Aleksandersen's source blog:
Windows 11 blocks Edge browser competitors from opening links
wrote:
... You can’t change the default protocol association through registry changes, OEM partner customizations, modifications to the Microsoft Edge package, interference with OpenWith.exe, or any other hackish workarounds.

Microsoft doesn’t even bother throwing up the “An app default was reset” error message. It just silently ignores the UserChoice registry keys for the protocol in the registry and opens Microsoft Edge instead. Windows still uses the default protocol associations to detect and present possible Edge beta or preview builds.

Windows will insist you use Microsoft Edge to a fault even if you brutalize your Windows installation and purge all traces of Microsoft Edge. Windows will open an empty UWP window and show an error message instead of letting you use your preferred web browser.

This isn’t a bug in the Windows Insider preview build. Microsoft has made specific changes...

All very thoroughly done! Be ready to be steered into the world of only Microsoft...

... Except...

The Microsoft patching of the zero-day exploits has opened up a whole new zero-day wider exploit...!

New Windows Installer Zero-Day Exploit Is {Out} in the Wild
wrote:
A recently disclosed Microsoft Windows Installer zero-day vulnerability is now being explored by malware creators. Publicly disclosed by security researcher Abdelhamid Naceri on a Github post last Sunday, the vulnerability allows for local privilege escalation from user-level privileges up to SYSTEM level - the highest security clearance possible. According to the security researcher, this exploit works in all supporting versions of Windows - including fully-patched Windows 11 and Windows Server 2022 installations. Before posting the exploit on GitHub, Naceri first disclosed it to Microsoft and worked with the company to analyze the vulnerability...

... Naceri explained that "the proof of concept is extremely reliable and doesn't require anything, so it works in every attempt." When it comes to mitigations, however, the researcher passes the ball to Microsoft: "The best workaround available at the time of writing this is to wait [for] Microsoft to release a security patch...

... The researcher also mentioned that his work in circumventing Microsoft's CVE-2021-41379 patch attempts resulted in him finding two possible exploits: the disclosed one which we're reporting on here, and a second one...

Also note:

New Windows zero-day with public exploit lets you become an admin
wrote:
... When BleepingComputer asked Naceri why he publicly disclosed the zero-day vulnerability, we were told he did it out of frustration over Microsoft's decreasing payouts in their bug bounty program.

"Microsoft bounties has been trashed since April 2020, I really wouldn't do that if MSFT didn't take the decision to downgrade those bounties," explained Naceri.

Naceri is not alone in his concerns about what researchers feel is the reduction in bug bounty awards...

How cheap can Microsoft push their non-QA?...

For how expensive for the consequences for their users/customers?...

Whaddaya mean that the users can't turn that option off?...

Micro$haft has not learned and probably doesn't give a crap from all the previous anti-compete lawsuits and E.U. rulings against them.

The coercive silliness has hit mainstream news:

BBC News: Microsoft Edge buy now pay later scheme met with criticism
wrote:
... The [Microsoft Edge] new feature inserts the payment option "at browser level", Microsoft says - so that it appears as a payment method next to the credit card field at checkout.
...
Microsoft said the new feature is marketed as allowing "shoppers to get their purchase up front, instead of having to wait until it's paid in full".

Because the option is baked into the browser, it is put on websites without permission from the site owner. The only way to opt out is to contact Microsoft and ask...

And...
Whaddaya mean that the users can't turn that option off?...

Neither can the websites you're hoping are still trustworthy for your payment details...
