After another few hours of grinding and filing the sun has finally come out of hiding to make it a very humid 21C (feels like 17C) here.

Anyhow I'm going to enjoy a couple of beers before I finish off the last little bit of pre-welding preparation and then that'll be my day done.

Cheers.

In the dark and damp and dodged shifting fish later in the morning.

... Very good excuse for an early (ish) finish and even a toast of wine! :-p

May the sun return for the 'morrow!

Well absolutely nothing got done here this morning with a cold gale blowing across the top of the range and threatening more rain while the temp here has only just reached 13C (feels like 6C). :-(

Thankfully we didn't get close to the forecasted 70-140mm over the last few days, but even the 36.5mm that we did get was too much for this waterlogged ground.

Anyhow it must be LLB time now.

Cheers.

My stepmom strikes again. She is okay and in good spirits. I was going to take my family out to dinner Saturday. That was until she called and said she was at the hospital physical terrorist live in facility. She said she swapped paint and front end bodywork with a dump truck. Dad said everything from the windshield forwarded is history. So now she has a few extra ouches and scrapes to add to her list.
So now my plans have changed just a little. She said to take them out without her. So now it will be the three of us going to the Panda Garden for a good time.

Cars can in theory be replaced, relatives can't, not easily at least.

I'm very glad that she'll be ok Admiral.

Allegedly the Sun has risen here, but it's a pretty dull Saturday morning.

Deeper into the autumnal mild stillness.

Almost tempting for a BBQ!

Amazon man just left a package at my front door. While not too bad for many things books don't like getting wet, nor do I like soggy books. At least on this occasion I was in and it wasn't raining.....
(One reason why I prefer buying books from high street stores, but sometimes a book just isn't available other than on-line)

Who does like soggy books. Online ordering is a no go for my flat address. Chances it may be gone before I know it. So I send most deliveries to my dads house for secure delivery. The last books I received were digitally scanned. The titles were long out of print.

I've long ago gone all-digital for my reading. Ever since the first "IPS" displays became available that made reading comfortable.

Since then we now have OLEDs on various devices that work even better for clear reading.

... My quaint old books now serve purely as bookshelf decorations!

Aside: Tested out the Amazon (locked down) Kindels. The "Paperwhite" version nearly passed muster but I found the Amazon lock-in to be far too cumbersome. Instead, I enjoy a far better user experience and unrestricted freedom to read in comfort using unrestricted software on even just my own smartphone.

Enjoy!
