Message 2090396 - Posted: 16 Dec 2021, 19:28:58 UTC - in response to Message 2090366.

Here in the UK the pandemic is now two overlapping epidemics of SARS2-Delta and SARS2-Omicron.

Both are rampaging through the unvaccinated. However, the rapid increasing spread of Omicron is amazing!

We'll be beyond 100,000 new cases each day before this weekend!!!

Stay safe folks...
Martin

Actually, the worst variants are
D
J
and
T.

You are so right D J and T, just remember the T is a silent killer.

Eric understood as well.
Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.

"The Covid cases are going through the roof at all Premier League clubs," said Frank.
"Everyone is dealing with it and everyone has a problem at this moment in time.
"To postpone this round [of Premier League games] and the Carabao Cup would give everyone a week at least to clean and do everything at the training ground so everything is fine and we break the chain at every club."

Message 2090421 - Posted: 17 Dec 2021, 0:20:14 UTC - in response to Message 2088939.

The COVID immunisation rates here for the 24th have been released with the national 1st dose average of eligible population (12yrs and over) is now 91.9% while fully dosed average is up to 86%.

The A.C.T. still leads the way with over 99% being single dosed while 98% are fully dosed.
N.S.W. comes in next with 94.5% being single dosed while 92.2% are fully dosed.
Victoria comes in 3rd with 93.2% being single dosed while 90% are fully dosed.
Tasmania has now risen above the national average with 93.2% being single dosed while 86% are fully dosed.
S.A. leads the chain draggers with 88.2% being single dosed while 79% are fully dosed.
The N.T. comes in next with 86.8% being single dosed while 74.8% are fully dosed.
Queensland are struggling to stay off the bottom of the barrel with 85.6% being single dosed while 74.9% are fully dosed.
W.A. comes in last with 85.3% being single dosed while 74.2% are fully dosed.

Hopefully those numbers might encourage some other countries to do better, so don't be a covidiot and get those jabs in.
As of the 15th the national average for 1st dose is now 93.6% while 2 dose is up to 93.6%.

The A.C.T. continues to lead the way with over 99% being single dosed while close to 100% are fully dosed.

On 1st doses Tasmania has jumped up into 2nd spot with over 96% now done (they really wanted that 5th test), NSW comes in next with 94.8%, Victoria follows with 93.6%, SA has 91.4%, WA has 89.1%, Queensland has 89% while the NT comes in last with just 88.6% done.

On 2nd doses NSW comes in 2nd with 93.3% done followed by Victoria with 92%, Tasmania with 91%, SA with 85.6%, Queensland has 83.1%, the NT 82.2% while WA drags the chain with just 80.9% done.

Anyhow 5-11yr olds will soon be added to these stats which will bump these numbers down a little bit and I'm wondering when booster shots will be added to them.

I also expect this Omicron variant wave that we are now into will drive a few more Aussies to come forward and get their jabs in. This wave is here also being driven by those going out and celebrating, commemorating, partying and Dominic's ridiculous decision to go against all health advice and abandon most of this state's COVID measures (and boy is he copping a backlash over it now with over 2,200 infections being reported in the last 24hrs).

Anyhow I'll stick with carry my mask around with me and continue to stay away from the pubs.

Message 2090502 - Posted: 18 Dec 2021, 5:57:33 UTC

By the end of the last reporting period saw the world's total case tally pass 273.9 million as deaths now exceed 5,360,400.

Changes in the top 50 of the death list were Bosnia/Herzegovina moving past Kazakhstan back into 50th spot after Austria passed Kazakhstan to claim 49th, Slovakia jumped over both Morocco and Sweden to takeover 45th as Greece humped over Myanmar and Bolivia into 38th, Vietnam leapt over Belgium, Bangladesh and Pakistan to land in 29th while the Ukraine and Poland jumped over Spain and South Africa into 15th & 16th places respectively and Russia is closing in on Mexico's 4th place.

Changes on the case list were Saint Pierre Miquelon passing Macao and the Falkland Islands into 210th place, Greenland replaced St. Barth in 205th while the Caribbean Netherlands removed Turks/Caicos from 200th, the Faeroe Islands took wing over Saint Martin, Antigua/Barbuda, Monaco and Comoros to land in 194th as St. Vincent Grenadines took 190th from Chad, San Marino leapt over Dominica, Sierra Leone and Guinea-Bissau into 183rd and the Isle of Man jumped over New Caledonia and Hong Kong to claim 173rd spot.

New Zealand also jumped over New Caledonia and Hong Kong before adding Saint Lucia and South Sudan to the list to takeover 170th spot, Andorra leapt over the Congo, Timor-Leste and Iceland to become the 157th member of the 20K+ club, as the Channel Islands leapfrogged Congo, Timor-Leste, Mayotte and Burundi to land in 153rd, Lesotho took flight over Mauritius, the Bahamas, Somalia and the Seychelles to refuel in 148th while Barbados sailed past Tanzania and Togo into 143rd, Belize replaced Guinea in 141st and Guyana removed Cabo Verde from 137th place.

French Guiana and Martinique both cruised past French Polynesia to claim 130th & 131st places respectively, Eswatini took a short flight over Syria, Suriname, Fiji and Guadeloupe to make a stopover in 125th while the D.R.C. jumped over the Ivory Coast and Malawi into 122nd, Réunion also passed the Ivory Coast and Malawi before adding Angola to the list to claim 120th as Laos leapfrogged over Jamaica, the Maldives and Luxembourg into 114th, China officially became 113th country to enter the 100K+ clubhouse (though we all know that those official Chinese numbers can be taken with a grain of salt) and El Salvador took 109th spot off of Cambodia.

Namibia replaced Ghana in 106th spot, Zimbabwe took flight over Afghanistan, Mozambique, Montenegro and Kyrgyzstan to land in 100th as Finland leapt over Uzbekistan, Botswana and Albania to takeover 96th, Zambia removed Algeria from 94th while Nigeria replaced North Macedonia in 92nd after Australia jumped over North Macedonia and Estonia into 90th, Bosnia/Herzegovina replaced Bahrain in 84th and Norway became the 83rd member of the 300K+ club before jumping over Oman and Armenia into 81st place.

Egypt replaced Moldova in 79th place, Libya slipped past Honduras into 76th while Slovenia jumped past Palestine and Venezuela into 69th, South Korea took a flight over Panama, Lithuania earning enough frequent flier points to become the 65th member of the 500K+ club before also passing Ecuador and Saudi Arabia to land in 62nd as Denmark also took a flight over Myanmar, Ecuador, Saudi Arabia, Bolivia, Costa Rica and Sri Lanka to make a refueling stop in 58th in the 600K+ clubhouse, Ireland jumped over Azerbaijan and Guatemala to claim 55th and Tunisia was bumped out of 50th spot by Bulgaria.

Slovakia replaces the U.A.E. in 48th spot, Georgia became the 46th country to enter the 900K+ club as Greece jumped over Cuba and Kazakhstan to become the 42nd member of the 1M+ club after Jordan had passed Kazakhstan to become the 41st member as Hungary bumped Portugal out of 38th, Vietnam zipped past Israel into 32nd while Czechia kicked Peru out of 22nd, the Netherlands gave the Philippines the boot from 19th and Spain blasted Argentina out of 10th place.

To finish things off France became the 7th member of the 8M+ club while Turkey became the 6th country to enter the 9M+ clubhouse as Russia became the 5th member of the 10M+ club, the U.K. became the 4th member of the 11M+ club and the U.S. had their grand opening of their 51M+ clubhouse with the opening of their 52M+ clubhouse fast approaching.

Meanwhile Florida still persists in delaying the reporting of their deaths with their death numbers jumping from 60,846 to 61,081 to 61,147 to 61,538 to 61,630 to 61,789 to 62,007 to 62,191 over the recent weeks, but why do they keep up with this cover up charade?

Anyhow I need a refill now after all of that.

As of the 15th the national average for 1st dose is now 93.6% 89.9% while 2 dose is up to 93.6%.
I'll correct those eligible population figures and with the recent surge in cases here 2 days later those percentages have gone up respectively to 90.3% and 93.8%.

Meanwhile I see that those covidiot morons down in Melbourne were at it again today spreading the disease amongst themselves (I wonder if that's why their numbers keep dwindling) while in Sydney young Dominic has ministers resigning left, right and center as the state sets records in daily infections with the sudden dropping of critical COVID measures (against all expert health advise).

Well Gladys' replacement Dominic has set new Australian COVID infection records here today with the state recording 5,715 new cases in the last 24hrs and he's finally starting to bow to pressure to bring back in certain restrictions that he stupidly dropped against all heath advise, but sadly the damage has been done and Omicron will continue to run riot. :-(

Hospitalisations in Australia is now up to 927 (>75% unvaccinated) with 119 (>80% unvaccinated) of those in ICU and 52 (>90% unvaccinated) of those are on ventilators. Victoria still leads the way with numbers of 398 in hospital, 72 in ICU and 39 on ventilation. Last week it was reported that 33 Victorian court appearances for moron covidiot protesters had been suspended because the defendants were in ICU. N.S.W. is quickly catching up with numbers of 347, 45 and 13. The N.T, comes in a distant 3rd with 94 in hospital and just 1 in ICU. Queensland is next with 80 in hospital and also just 1 in ICU. In S.A. there's 5 in hospital while the A.C.T. finishes off the count with 3 in hospital.

[edit] Tasmania just added 1 more hospitalisation to that count.

Testing and vaccination clinics and stations are also being overwhelmed across most states here with this Omicron wave.

We're on quite a gamble on an unholy balance for the Omicron COVID between:

Omicron is a little less deadly with about 1/3rd the previous proportion of non-vaccinated victims requiring hospital treatment;

HOWEVER... Omicron is far more virulent and far more infectious to hit over 20 times more victims...

And prior infections of COVID offer effectively little protection against Omicron COVID...

Do the deadly sums...

1/3 x 20(++) = (At least) SIX times more victims in hospital...

Likely many more than that??

Crazy times and crazy numbers of those infected with Omicron.

... With many more to come. So much so, we've run out of testing capacity.

At least with this blast of spreading the Omicron infection, we will 'quickly' splash through the tsunami to leave only those that have been fully vaccinated or recovered, or disabled or dead. Pray that you do not need any hospital treatment for anything else for the next two months or so (our hospitals are beyond 'full')...

Darwinism in action, for both the virus and the victims.

{Wednesday} Covid: Daily UK case numbers hit record of 183,037

(Note that is only the number that has actually been reported. There is always a proportion of people suffering covid that do not get reported...)

Long Covid: 'I have to choose between walking and talking'

How many long term disabled do we get from this?...

We haven't mentioned Florida and its Governor Ron DeSantis recently, usually about his attempts to hide the true number of deaths in the state.
Well in looks like he has gone missing, as the number of cases surge.
"Where is our governor? Where is Ron DeSantis now?" — Mayor Jerry Demings, Orange County, Florida

Many are wondering where the Florida governor is as COVID cases surge by more than 1,000% since DeSantis's last COVID press conference on 12/17.
