It's getting harder every week now to get a day with enough data to do an update these days with the slack reporting going on, but as the world's total case tally passes 207.9 million and total deaths surpass 4,374,900 it's time for another update of the 2 main lists.

Changes at the top end of the death list were the Philippines ripping Hungary out of 24th spot as South Africa tore Poland from 16th and Indonesia blasted France out of 10th place so let's get on with the case list now.

As things heat up on this list the Dominica knocked the Diamond Princess out of the top 200 and then Brunei came along to knock it down another spot, Sint Maarten replaced Monaco in 18th while Guinea-Bissau displaced Chad from 180th, Gibraltar took San Marino out of 178th, Mauritius took 176th from Liberia as the Isle of Man nudged Niger out of 174th, Burundi flew over Equatorial Guinea, Benin, Gambia and Iceland to land in 165th and Laos went went 1 further also passing the Channel Islands to take over 163rd spot.

Timor-Leste passed Hong Kong into 157th place, Belize displaced Mali from 150th as Taiwan was replaced by Tajikistan in 147th, Togo took 143rd from P.N.G. while Suriname passed Syria, but got dumped down to 136th because French Polynesia made a leap into 133rd and Guadeloupe took a long distance flight up to 130th.

Eswatini leapfrogged Cabo Verde and Malta to claim 127th, Australia displaced Sudan from 125th while Réunion jumped over Trinidad/Tobago and Madagascar to take over 121st, Rwanda replaced the Maldives in 111th as Albania was taken out of 98th by Botswana, Mozambique displaced Estonia from 96th, Uzbekistan took 94th from Latvia and Mongolia shoved Nigeria out of 88th place.

Vietnam took flight again this time over Armenia, Slovenia, Moldova and Bahrain before making a stopover in 77th spot, Ireland knocked Palestine from 68th as Sri Lanka and Myanmar both pass the Dominican Republic to take up 64th & 65th places respectively, Azerbaijan replaced Croatia in 62nd while Guatemala became the 59th member of the 400K+ club before removing Kuwait from 58th, Paraguay lost 53rd to Belarus and Cuba flew right on past Bolivia and Ecuador to become the 49th country to enter the 500K+ clubhouse.

Kazakhstan kicked Austria out of 43rd place, Nepal passed Serbia, but still remain in 40th because Morocco flew over both of them as well as Switzerland to claim 38th while Thailand took another long flight this time over Jordan to become the 36th member of the 800K+ club soaring well past Hungary before becoming the 35th country to enter the 900K+ clubhouse, Portugal became the 33rd member of the 1M+ club as Japan flew over Romania, Pakistan and Sweden to make a refueling stop in 29th and Mexico became the 15th country to enter the 3M+ clubhouse.

Indonesia wiped Germany out of 13th spot as Turkey became the 7th member of the 6M+ club and the U.S. had the grand opening of its 37M+ clubhouse while construction of its 38M+ clubhouse is well ahead of schedule.

Anyhow that'll do for now as I need a beer or 2 after that effort.

What a misnomer. As it stands currently, nobody is fully vaccinated.
With the mad rush rush to get everyone "double jabbed" & the economy back to normal, what R&D is being done on the variants to the point that Mr Kevvy raised?
Smallpox eradicated.
Will the buffoons at the top now release funds for that R&D without their normal "soundbite" - too costly?
As seen, it's been pretty costly worldwide.
Only when the stage 4 trials are over & several years of data available will that be determined & as well as how effective the vaccinations have been. That brings us right back to that elephant in the room - Lockdown can't be forever.

Indeed so. Note the very good comments from that family:

... "We want our life back as much as everybody else does but there are little things that we could be doing to keep each other safe."

She added: "I really think wearing a mask in a shop if you're not exempt is so easy. It's no hassle.

Being fully vaccinated vastly improves your chances and is one big step amongst further steps needed to keep everyone alive and healthy and active.

Few vaccines are 100% effective. They can't be!

However, they do give a very healthy significant head start that can eliminate our very present and ongoing pandemic...

The biggest elephant is that of those in control.
How often has important decisions/laws/bad news been released while a major incident/event holds the attention of the media?
After many years of data collation, how many of the population are aware that there have been many years that the flu vaccine has only had a 2% effective rate?
Yet they continue to push the annual flu shot.

The vaccines for Covid have only been available for close to 9 months, yet what is seen?
Blood clots
Brain inflammations
Allergic reactions
Deaths after "full" vaccination

All blown out of all proportion & done by authorities.
What can the population garner from that?
Misinformation/BS/Labeling does nothing to alleviate the situation. In fact I believe it just makes it worse.

Bungling authorities
Scaremongering media
Science arguing

Populations are just the PBI.

But there are still cases in some rural areas of Africa, Asia and America.

And in 2017, an outbreak killed 171 people in Madagascar...

Vaccines have been long neglected due to other parts of Pharmaceutics being far more lucrative/profitable.

Hopefully the COVID pandemic will be turned around to be a life saving wake-up clarion call!
