Officially SETI@Home is "hibernating, and has been for well over a year. So, it has dropped off the list of projects on BOINC as you can't get any work, nor return any (very old) work you may have completed. Hopefully, if (when) it comes back, someone will send out an email to all of us who crunched it before it went away. (Is that too much to ask?) ~Sue~ |

Hopefully, if (when) it comes back, someone will send out an email to all of us who crunched it before it went away. (Is that too much to ask?) Should be easy, DA sent out a email newsletter to everyone at the end of 1999, still have my copy somewhere ;-) P. |

If SETI does comes back. How long will it take to get work units? Days, weeks,or months? Do please remember that there are a lots of crunchers still in idle mode out there. |

And yet the hope and the forums and the community and The Search still live! Funding to do something is a totally different story... Keep searchin' yet! Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Forget it. SETI will never come back again. And when the scientific papers of "nothing found" is published, this board and the entire SETI site, will be gone too. Alrighty, then! Had to be grumpy, eh? Allow me to be, at the same time, Sargey about this and maintain agnosticism. Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

When it comes back it won't use BOINC. There will be other more modern and versatile distributed computing platforms available. |

Such as? BOINC as a distributed framework looks to still to be well adopted. What new distributed systems are there?... Keep searchin', Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |
