Behind the clouds the sun is about to kiss the horizon.

Cheers.

TGIF
Back at home. Long-distance drives just seem to take more out of me these days.
Home safe but my body feels like someone had at it with a rubber mallet. Bit sore all over.

Message 2085365 - Posted: 1 Oct 2021, 16:25:01 UTC

10-1-2021 at 9:25 AM - PDT

I'm back, too. Took two days to unpack, do laundry, organize bills for this month, and unwind.

Steve LOVES the Mac Pro 3,1 - Early 2008 System. We went to Best Buy on 9-21, and bought
a Samsung Curved 27" FHD 1080p monitor, a solar charged Logitech Mac Full Sized Keyboard
with 10-Key - USB Fob, Wireless Keyboard, Logitech M510 Mouse, 7-Port USB Hub, and a
Yamaha 25" Soundbar with Built-in Subwoofers.

The Logitech Keyboard is finicky with the 'Option' Key. This made it VERY difficult to bring up
the Boot Menu/Drive Select Menu of the Mac Pro. So, I reluctantly set in MacOS that the 'Startup
Disk' is Win 10 Pro. This had the issue of selecting MacOS Drive to Boot, (WHEN you can get
the Boot Menu), yield the 'No Entry' sign - rendering MacOS unbootable for the moment. Everything
else is working perfectly. I will look into a replacement Keyboard for Steve at a later date. For him,
this is a MINOR issue, as Win 10 Pro is his OS of choice, anyway.

My friend Bob got me there in time for my niece's B-Day. Steve's wife, (again, NOT told I was coming),
was totally in shock that I was at the door on the 20th. My niece said, "Shouldn't you be in California?"
It was AWESOME!!!!! :-) :-D

Bob went on to Indiana and up to Ohio to see his grandparents' grave site. Then he turned around
and headed back to CA. I flew back on the 29th. It was great to visit, but it's good to be home and
sleeping in my Tempurpedic again.

In contrast, my travels have been a mere walk across/through fields and woods and a few streets to pick up some essential consumables ready for a drive up north of here for a house warming party/gathering. Hopefully, we keep our mild weather for that for keeping their garden warm!

We have hopeful portent with a beautiful sunset at the moment.

I like my bed, considering I built most of it, the mattress is a firm Wolf Queen mattress from
Walmart, the metal/wood box spring is made by Zinus via Amazon, and the Birch slats are from
Lowes.

Over the weekend a friend will install the new MAF sensor, the p1131 code says the existing MAF
is defective or dirty(it had been cleaned already), that should extinguish the check engine light
provided everything else is ok like the failed smog check said.

There were no bugs on my bed last night or this morning.

I paid the rent, paid for my check into cash bill, and bought some food.

Getting in the car is getting easier thanks to me losing 43lbs, though easier does not mean it's not
difficult still, I'm down to 475lbs now.

Winning on a Saturday morning as the sun rises behind clouds again, though it should be dryer here today.

Cheers.

Woken by men on boats. Or getting ready to get on boats. Must be a big fishing contest this weekend. There are many people with boats lined up to get in the water. They are much earlier and louder than usual.

Guess what today is?
Its the opening day of:

That's why all the men in boats are gathered getting their boats ready. This group is much noisier than any of the fishing groups. They start shooting at dawn.,

A pizza may well come later.

Well I'm just adjusting to this daylight savings again. I've got to lower the ground again at the side gate (thanks to Dog) and even though it's a lovely morning and the clock says 9:38am it's a bit too cool out there yet to start earth moving.

I should get a thirst worked up doing that job. ;-)

Cheers.

Careful around here. It's duck season. I have already heard the morning retorts of Elmer wannabes.
