Here's a Hump Day night bedtime post as the temp here drops down to 2C (feels like -1C). Cheers. |

My new guitar has cleared emigration in Australia and is now sitting around waiting for a seat on its flight to the UK.... I've often ponder on great names for rock bands. One that keeps going through my mind is "Sic transit gloria mundi", only with a slight mis-spelling of the word "mundi".... Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Can't smile, can't go to the Post Office to get my mail, 1 inch rocks are surrounding my home, and I have a fractured foot, so no smile. If I had some money I could order food, just not with Calfresh, Staters is dragging their feet on Calfresh delivery as they've had more than 6 months to get their system to work with Instacart and Calfresh and have not done so yet, Calfresh is already done on their end.... @ Carlos Just thinking about how far above sea level your island is. Will a rise in ocean level effect you much? |

@ Carlos My home is about 3 feet above mean high tide. The levy is 11 feet above MSL. The levy district is currently raising the level another 3 feet. If we get much rise, we will be damp. |

Time to start turning those boathouses into houseboats Carlos?@ CarlosMy home is about 3 feet above mean high tide. The levy is 11 feet above MSL. The levy district is currently raising the level another 3 feet. If we get much rise, we will be damp. On this nice sunny morning I got the bed stripped, mattress flipped, 1 load of washing done and out on the line, got fresh linen on the bed and a brew kit sterilising as I wait for my 2nd wash load to be ready to go out on the line. Now that deserves a coffee break. Cheers. |

But my plan is to tear down the house I live in now and build a new one on stilts. Above the flood level. |

Couldn't you just drive the stilts and place your present house on them? |

Well the sea level will have to rise 960m before I'll have a seafront residence. With everything else that I did here today I didn't get around to getting back into my brewroom, but it's ready to go 1st thing in the morning and a frosty -3C is expected here. Cheers. |

Sunshine? Where's that?! Will a bright stillness of grey do?... And all is calm... And... It was a really nice day yesterday, so much so that I decided to try rolling two days of surveying into one... Many energetic miles of footslog later, and I found my intended food stop to be closed 'cos it was now evening time and too late... Had to settle for a small pizza a wee way further on. All good energetic healthy stuff for the long day. Badly feeling it today and enjoying 2kg off mi beer belly!! (That's 4 1/2 lbs old-speak, or x2 UK supermarket bags of sugar in food-speak!)
