[Final DISH Network Update:]

+8 Days and STILL WORKING!!!!! NO ISSUES!!!!! :-) :-D

I now consider the matter resolved and closed. :-) :-D

[RE: Broadband Speeds:]

It's NOT the raw speed that seems to matter, it's how it's delivered.

AT&T U-Verse is 'Dedicated', NOT SHARED like 'most' Cable companies....
That is, on our 50Mb Dedicated U-Verse Internet, I have DL 20GB data files,
(StarCraft:Remastered from Blizzard), in approx. 5-6 Minutes. (Closer to 5.)
Where COMCAST-XFINITY Business 200Mb - Shared Internet, (shared
across neighborhoods), DL that same game in 20 Minutes.

AT&T U-Verse is VDSL, and is Fiber to the Node, (what they call a VRAD),
where it is transferred to copper to the home. My area is an older area
and is supposed to get Fiber to the Home between now and next year.
(City permits withstanding....)

Now, with our Linksys Velop MESH Network, even our WiFi connected
computers, phones, and tablets ALL can obtain our Maximum 50Mb
DL speeds. Our total package by AT&T U-Verse is 50Mb/10Mb, and is
typically over provisioned. We SpeedTest.net at 54 to 55Mb DL and
12Mb UL.

When we were on original COMCAST, (before switching to U-Verse,
which is before XFINITY began), our 20Mb DL package typically
bounced around and even dropped to 1.5MB DL at times. VERY, VERY
frustrating. So, when we switched to U-Verse, we didn't look back.

Yes...

Why are most ISPs so frustratingly bad and slow and expensive for their service?...

Too much monopoly and too little impartial oversight??

We have an embarrassingly ridiculous example with our euphemistically named "Openreach" de-facto singular national carrier here in the UK upon which all other UK ISPs have to bear and suffer...

Enjoy your good uncontended success!

Just caught a typo, too late to correct in the original Post....

1.5MB SHOULD be 1.5Mb for the slowest DL Speeds on
original Comcast, that we endured.... :-(

[@ML1,]

We pay $60 a month for our current Internet Package. IF/WHEN
Fiber to the Home is implemented here, the price for Gigabit Fiber
will also be $60 a month.

Due to City regulations, we are in a 'duopoly' between U-Verse and
COMCAST-XFINITY services for Internet and 'cable' TV Services.
(Unless one goes to Satellite, which is what we've just done for TV
services... However; there is NO real competition being allowed
here for Internet....)

I got about 6.5-7hrs sleep on the mostly new 4 poster bed last night.

Now I just need to wash the top sheet and my mask, my 2 layer mask is currently soaking in vinegar.

Now that my wheelie bin is empty again and with the sun is still shinning I better go and dispose of that last pile of prunings that I have left before that rain does get here.

Cheers.

Well, ya can forever chase the end of a rainbow...

As seen due to the prismatic effect of the raindrops, the end of the rainbow will forever be ahead of you at the same angle between your gaze and the angle of the sunshine, for as far as you wish to chase...

Truly a fantastic Irish long story and tall tale!

Enjoy!

Winning now that my wheelie bin is again 66% full of chopped up prunings. :-)

I don't know how I did it but all 3 piles of tree prunings turned out being of the same size and I wasn't trying at all to do that. I bet that I couldn't do that if I tried.

Anyhow now that the yard is clear I'm going to enjoy a beer, or 3, before deciding on whether I cut up the last of the kindling today or not.

It also looks like I'll have to pull the old mower out early this year. :-(

Cheers.

That big light in the sky has gone to bed along with that cold gale that turned up here during LLB, but that expected rain hasn't come close as yet.

Cheers.

Well I tried to put my left shoe on today, my left foot is swollen and red and painful when I almost had the shoe on my foot.

DMV $135 next month which is due by the 8th or buy Shoes or not be able to pay the rent, buy food, take 6 bags of trash out, get my mail, vote...

This is just from a fall, there are 1 inch rocks surrounding my home on all sides and I need my left foot to get in the car, normally the drivers side is over concrete, it's over the rocks right now.

I'm barefoot...

So am I! Barefoot that is, at the moment ;-)

Thankfully my swellings have subsided after an unhealthy use of DEET.

My boots still stink! And not of my feet or mud for a change...

Meanwhile, we've had a change of weather and temperature to give a good blast of breezy blue skies that seems to have blown the mozzies away for the time being.

Hang in there!!

Have fun!

If it wasn't for the DMV registration for my car of $135 I'd buy a pair of sandals for swollen feet in a size 13 ew from orthofeet.com for about $100 plus probably sales tax, yeah I can't do both.
