Posting after finishing my bed project with some help at the end. My neighbor came by and moved everything into place with only some help from me. I helped get the bed spring in place and the bagged mattress isn’t going back, the bag could not be removed intact, we had to both tear the multilayer bag to pieces. I sat on it for a few minutes, it’s nearly 85F in there now. So by Friday at 7pm I can start making my bed and sleep in an unair-conditioned bedroom. I also moved the night stand back in place and reconnected the light after I took this pic. The bedspring comes right up to the top of the bed frame. This project is now put to bed. I had to turn the mattress around as the tagged end felt too low, after that it felt comfy, getting off is harder thanks to dual hip pain and I couldn't wait as the sofa was making me itch. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

I understand about the mattress. I bought a new twin and one side was not level. So I was planning on putting the bed next to the wall. I turned the mattress 180°. Made a big difference. |

I got about 4.5 hours on it this morning, I even got the bottom sheet on after 3 tries, the 1st try seems to have been confusing, the 2nd only 3 of 4 corners reached, the 3rd try is perfection, next the top sheet tonight. I also had to figure out how to get on and off the bed since this is different from the old setup, I'm leaving the forearm crutch at the head of the bed when I'm there. Grace laid on my bed a lot with me, though if I turned on my right side she jumped off even though she was not in my way at all, the bottom sheet made a difference in getting on & off. Happy Friday! Winning in a smoky new reality. It was cool yesterday. The sun was a dim orange dot in the sky. Almost like a sky on a fictitious planet in some SciFi novel. Read in Science that the Russian fire had doubled the record for CO2 released into our atmosphere. How is your air quality? |

I guess that I'm winning with a Friday night bedtime post instead of an early Saturday morning one due to lockdown here. Cheers. |

I thought that we'd burnt off all of this state by now, but 55 burn offs are already going on with all bar a hand full of them going on right long the coast ATM and that number has steadily grown over the last hour. The sunshine this morning quickly disposed of the frost here and it looks like we'll get an early taste of spring over the weekend before more rain arrives. I just hope that this taste of spring followed by some rain doesn't trigger any buds as the frosts follow the rain will likely kill them. Mostly sunny max's of 19-20C are expected here over the next 3 days before dropping back to 10-13C with cold winds. Cheers. |

Well... We've had summertime, autumn, tropical humidity, and largasso sea calm mixed with bumpy gusts, all at random times throughout the day... Enjoyed unexpected impromptu coffee in the middle of a field... Amazing what modern tech can brew up where! Then also had my cheese snaffled by an always hungry dog in a fleeting moment whilst I hefted a recalcitrant lever. I was distracted for less than two seconds and then there was the crime scene of no cheese and a mountain sheep dog licking her chops... Annoying but fair game, grrrr... Could be worse, one could live on the sunken part of zealandia, yep sleeping with the fishes & the fossils. I need a housekeeper, at least that is what IHSS says, they say I have to hire someone and IHSS pays if my Doctors Office will get off their ass. If it weren't for my stiff legs & bad hip joints it wouldn't be so hard doing anything, like bringing in groceries from the car where I brought 5 of 15 in and a friend brought in the other 10(usually once a month), vacuuming, taking the trash out, taking the rent to the managers office, taking the 2L bottles to be recycled for $, plus other misc tasks. One of these days sometime in 2023 I'm going to get a 2016-2019 Chevy Volt as I need the hip room that a 1999 Ford Escort zx2 can't give me. Just vacuuming the back bedroom & back bathroom and only mostly took 4 days. The 4 bags to the right of the tv are trash, to the left are 3 bags with enough for a 4th bag of crushed 2L bottles to be recycled. If it wasn't for the cool wind here today it would've been the perfect winter's day reaching 19C (felt like 14C) and the burn off count reached 82 with all but a dozen of them being down along the coast. Anyhow I'll go back to enjoying my sunny Saturday afternoon while it lasts. ;-) Cheers. |
