Sun? What sun?

OK, so the damp and murk is at least nicely a brighter shade of murk!

Does this mark that the Vortex has lost its chill grip?...

Oooer... The murk is undulating and rising to reveal... Hints and shades of the heavens above!

Drying out nicely :-)

And lots yet to do!

We have patches of blue sky amidst lots of fluffy stuff. Must check up on my meteorology as to what that portends... Must be some sort of occluded frontal breezing by...

And lo! We have, just in, revised plans/contingency for a heatwave this summer!!! That's going to need a full pint full strength mug of coffee brew.

Enjoy the sunshine!

Edit/Update: Delay the brew... The revision is merely to add mention of COVID19... The Heatwave Plan otherwise remains unchanged. Tick box ticked!

4 degrees is a very big shift...

That will really muck up the GPS!

Actually it's not the rotational axis that has shifted but the location of the magnetic North Pole that has moved as part of its "merry dance" that may indicate that we are about to (next 10/100/1,000/1,000,000 years) have a flip in the Earth's magnetic field. According to some these flips have happened quite a number of times, and we are "about due" one, but nobody has any real idea of how fast it will be or when it will happen.

The shift in the Earth's axis of rotation is recent news:

Climate crisis has shifted the Earth’s axis, study shows
wrote:
The massive melting of glaciers as a result of global heating has caused marked shifts in the Earth’s axis of rotation since the 1990s...

... The planet’s geographic north and south poles are the point where its axis of rotation intersects the surface, but they are not fixed. Changes in how the Earth’s mass is distributed around the planet cause the axis, and therefore the poles, to move.

In the past, only natural factors such as ocean currents and the convection of hot rock in the deep Earth contributed to the drifting position of the poles. But the new research shows that since the 1990s, the loss of hundreds of billions of tonnes of ice a year into the oceans resulting from the climate crisis has caused the poles to move in new directions...

... Since 1980, the position of the poles has moved about 4 metres in distance...

... it showed how human activities have redistributed huge amounts of water around the planet: “It tells you how strong this mass change is – it’s so big that it can change the axis of the Earth.”...

We've had to update GPS and World Atomic Time for the shift in time and space...

Yeeeehaaaaaw!?

Amazing what sunshine and clear skies can do... Even for just a late in the day brief blast.

We're about +10 deg C above previous evenings!
