Decided to run a virus scan on my cruncher. I forgot how long it takes. Over 7 hours and past 5 million scanned files. The process is still going. |

Thar'll be some new cyberviruses to be called SARs and Corona and covid... Bound to be! For the sake of 7 hours, could be the time to look up what Linux or Apple or Google have to offer? Or even a Raspberry Pi 400?? Stay safe folks! Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

My is scanned nightly by Microsoft Security Essentials and every week the PC is scanned by HitmanPro, I also have Malwarebytes just in case, my PC is quite safe behind my firewall. My Samsung Galaxy A10e android phone uses a firewall known as Internet App Blocker and I have Malwarebytes to scan for malware with, my phone is very safe. Internet App Blocker works and is easy to use once installed, though it does not run on all versions of the Android OS. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Computer 'anti-virus' is very much a game of trying to catch your horses after they are long gone out the door. Far better is to enjoy computer systems where some effort and design has gone into thwarting the viruses at source... Stay safe folks! People should not have malware infected phones where the malware is in the firmware and can't be removed. Android is built upon Linux. Android is built upon the Linux kernel, a software stack that interfaces with the hardware of a device. It basically enables an operating system to communicate with the device---whether that's a PC, a smartphone, or other hardware. The Linux operating system should really be referred to as GNU/Linux.
