I've no idea, hopefully there is a cure for this condition.

Hey! Not in the water... Fish do that :-)

Now there's a question:

In the inland vastness that is the USA, are there entire communities that have no swimming pool and the people have never experienced open water?

Ok, so they've just been rolling in it?

I can barely take care of myself these days, the old pool here is cracked and has no lifeguard and is not setup for swimming lessons to a guy with OA and 4 unrepaired dislocated joints(both hips & shoulders), I'm eligible for having my right hip joint replaced if I can lose some weight though I was not told how much to lose, the park is not touching the pool, the extra home spaces have been converted into parking spaces since to expand the park from 61 spaces to the full 88 spaces they would have to upgrade the water, sewer, nat gas, and electrical first as they are all ancient. Right now all the park is doing is refurbishing every home in the park that they own plus the appearance of the park, anything underground might be worked on at a later date as would the rotting streets, just not now. A while back the park owner got suckered by some people and got streets that look ok but are just covered with crack sealant that started to wear out after a couple of months and some asphalt.

Sounds like there is a tight balance between the repairs and upgrades.

Have fun and stay healthy!

Yeah and the park personnel are slowly doing the repairs which they are capable of doing, as long as they get a real paving contractor one day.

I've been slowly repairing my home since early 2007, it's getting there. Some of what I've done has liberated some income from the electrical bill that I had.

This home should have a 100 amp service, instead it's running @ 60% of that, any electrical work on my home has been done by licensed personnel when my skills or ability would not suffice.

Back in 2006 when the park had different owners and personnel, they tried hooking the 100 amp stub up to the park cables directly and there was no power, so they hooked up a 60 amp breaker in the stub and I had power, the 60 amp and 100 amp breakers in the stub I think are connected together and it's been like that ever since then.

Technically the homes breaker box and stub could hold a 125 amp main breaker in each, but I'd need an electrician to see if that would work or not as the box is outfitted w/a 100 amp breaker, plus I'd need another 60 amps from the park too. 25% out of spec or get a bigger breaker box, a bigger box is preferable if I don't need to rewire the home.

I still need to have 4 - 20 amp 120v breakers and 4 outlets installed, plus install the 10 amp 120v breaker for the gas furnace while removing the unneeded 50 amp 240v breaker that was there for an a/c unit that is long gone and get a 40 amp 240v breaker for EV charging w/a 14-50 weather proof and lockable outlet. Though I'm not buying a 40 amp breaker right now as I'll leave that to later since I could hook up the 60 amp breaker if it's feasible.

Of the 4 - 20 amp outlets, one is for a treadmill, the other three are for the PCs near the TV. I'd have had all of this done years ago, but loans end at the park boundary.

With my current breaker box I still can't go full electric and/or solar, so water heating, clothes drying, the furnace, and most likely the range have to stay on natural gas until further notice.

Is not the USA converting to 240V ac so as to save wastage on the copper needed for domestic cabling?

And I hope everyone is well clear of the Texas chilly fiasco!

Nope too expensive, everyone on the grid(s) in the USA is wired for 120v @ 60Hz, 240v here is two 120v lines bonded together.

So...

Are 240V ac home appliances readily available?

Yes, I own a 240V wall oven, cook top and dryer that use that as does my mini split heat pump. The rest of the house uses 120v.

OK for the high power stuff.

Requiring a split for keeping with 120V adds a bit of complication for the low power stuff...

I hope the power hungry super-crunchers run from a 240V feed!

Yes. Though without solar and/or a geothermal or ground source heatpump the bill can be more expensive, a smooth top electric range is easy to keep clean compared to the gas range that I have. Current total gas and electric costs per month is about $136 a month, though summer is not here yet and that would be about $205 a month or so with what I currently run. The only a/c that works here is 120v window units, but that is a park wide problem, next door has a central a/c unit that can't be used cause the electric service here is too old and small.

PC's are 120v here, in theory I could run a psu off of 240v, but they take up a lot of room and there is no room for 6-240v breakers in the current box. 240v breakers take up 2-1 inch spaces, top is the 100 amp main breaker.
