Retrieval operation underway after hundreds of drones plunge into Melbourne's Yarra River. Potentially hundreds of drones are resting on the bottom of the Yarra River after a mysterious technical malfunction on Friday night sent them plummeting into the water in Melbourne's CBD. The drones were to be part of a pre-game light show before the Matildas game against France at Docklands Stadium. For reasons still to be determined, the drones broke off from their programmed routine and descended into the river at Docklands. The incident was filmed by onlookers and the video was posted to social media. The Australian Traffic Network [ATN], which owns and operates the drones, said 500 of them took off but as many as 350 of those failed to return..... Better luck next time. ID: 2122736 · Reply Quote
