Who said that you can't sail many times faster than the wind?

Team New Zealand sets new wind-powered land speed record on South Australia's Lake Gairdner.

...Team New Zealand — normally a sailing team — set the new benchmark on its land yacht, named Horonuku, at Lake Gairdner, a long white salt lake in South Australia's far north.

Pilot Glenn Ashby successfully sailed the team's wind-powered craft at a speed of 222.4 kilometres per hour on Sunday — in 22 knots (40.7 kph) of wind.

The time surpasses the standing record of 202.9 kph recorded by Richard Jenkins in the US in March 2009....
Cheers.

How badly have roads been damaged in some of the flood affected areas? Really badly.
Really, really, really badly.

Looks like every state down here is getting in on the act (though not all for the exact same reasons).

Queensland researchers farm 10,000 sushi rolls worth of seaweed.

Could floating seaweed "sausage" farms be Queensland's next big industry?

A two-year trial led by the University of the Sunshine Coast and Urban Utilities has farmed 125 kilograms of seaweed — 10,000 sushi rolls worth — off the state's coast.

"No-one else has farmed seaweed off the coast of Queensland," USC biology professor Nick Paul said.

"We had to start right at the beginning, working out what species are there, very small-scale collections of seaweed."

Those collections were then tested in a lab before they were sent out to a Moreton Bay oyster farm, where researchers discovered sausage-shaped nets were the best way to grow seaweed there....
Enjoy your sushi rolls.

Cheers.

The cable / satellite companies always manage to block on retransmission dispute at most convenient times whenever something good is to air.

I "cut the cord" some years back and get great reception of my local ME TV station in Dallas/FortWorth.

I have sympathy for those that can't get good or no local reception and will miss the broadcasts.

I do suppose you know that Svengoolie is going to 2.5 hours next year?
