We were lucky, all our kids learned handwriting in school... but as usual... girls spend enormous effort to master it until it looks almost perfect, while my teenage son, well... You can read it... some guessing...
I was taught cursive writing in school as well as the San serif block letters. I can write either way but I mostly use a hybrid combination of the two. A mix of both cursive and block characters. It’s readable if you know both fonts.
I learnt cursive in Primary school (US- Elementary school), but these days i write in block letters.
Even at it's best, my cursive was barely legible, but after many years of using a computer at work and not having to write manually much (if at all), my cursive would now look like the results of a spider having a fit on a page after walking through an ink well....

I did learn printing and script, and even taught myself calligraphy.
But that is my normal scrawl.

My signature is readable, but my last name is a doctors scrawl and unreadable.

Nobody could ever attempt to copy my signature, nor has anyone tried that I know of. A doctor's scribble is completely readable compared to my signature.

Since about 7th grade, even my teachers told me my handwriting was comparable to that of a doctor or a mad scientist.

Which is how a perfect signature should be. No need to fiddle around with wax and signet rings...

Now here is a smart thinker...
Klarna CEO says company will use humans to offer VIP customer service
“My wife taught me something,” Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski told the crowd at London SXSW. He was addressing the headlines about the company looking to hire human workers after previously saying Klarna used artificial intelligence to do work that would equate to 700 workers. “Two things can be true at the same time,” he said.

“We think offering human customer service is always going to be a VIP thing,” he said, comparing it to how people pay more for clothing stitched by hand rather than machines. “So we think that two things can be done at the same time. We can use AI to automatically take away boring jobs, things that are manual work, but we are also going to promise our customers to have a human connection.

Whoops.

HMAS Canberra accidentally blocks wireless internet and radio services in New Zealand.

The Department of Defence has acknowledged that HMAS Canberra, the Royal Australian Navy's largest warship, accidentally took out a number of wireless internet and radio services across New Zealand earlier this week during a visit intended to celebrate the sister city relationship between Canberra and Wellington.

The incident occurred early on Wednesday morning, as the 230-metre navy flagship made its way through the Cook Strait en route to New Zealand's capital, where the ship's crew is set to be welcomed with a parade and concert on Saturday.

According to local internet service providers (ISPs), HMAS Canberra's navigation radar began interfering with 5GHz wireless access points — devices that bridge wired and wireless networks — in regions on both New Zealand's North and South islands at around 2am......

Cheers.

No. The server is really slow, at least since yesterday. Read requests are slow; posting something even slower.

Eric is on vacation for the summer. So if it goes down, we are in trouble.

It's not just you.

On and off for the last few days the web site & forums have been very variable. Good one minute, timing out the next, and everything in between.
