One for the oldies amongst us. That number is not lost on me and several others I hope. For the new people just turn it upside down and try to figure it out. :-} |

A sight to behold is happening on our coast. Bioluminescence lights up festive season from NSW Mid North Coast to Sydney beaches. Cheers. |

It is or was easier to purchase a empty hand grenade years ago. I remember going with my parents to a surplus store and actually holding a fragmentary “pineapple” style grenade in my hand. |

It is or was easier to purchase a empty hand grenade years ago. I remember going with my parents to a surplus store and actually holding a fragmentary “pineapple” style grenade in my hand. Empty? I always treated those things until proven otherwise as quite LIVE, if the blast shock wave doesn't kill ya, then the fragments just might, we were taught to throw them as far as possible, the timer was set for 10 seconds once the clip was sprung and the pin was pulled... I witnessed one guy almost get killed cause he lobbed the grenade so weakly that the instructor next to him dived for the deck and pulled the guy down behind the barrier just before time ran out as I think the grenade rolled back to the barrier, the barrier is a concrete wall with a thick plywood face. He lived to go practice with the practice grenades again, yes I qualified, I could then use either arm, just like with the M16 where I earned a sharp shooters medal. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! They were quite safe. No pin or spoon was attached. Just a empty shell. |

They were quite safe. No pin or spoon was attached. Just a empty shell. I bought one in the 60s at an Army surplus store. Mine had the pin and spoon but no bottom or firing cap. I think I paid about $3 for it back then. They had many. |

The ‘Chicago Rat Hole’ Is The City’s Hottest New Tourist Attraction People are flocking to a sidewalk hole in Roscoe Village thanks to a viral tweet, an unlucky rodent and some wet cement. |

Millers tried to get into the market here back in the early 70's, but had failed before well before the 70's were coming to an end, so those lollies absolutely sound terrible. :-O |
