One for the oldies amongst us.

That number is not lost on me and several others I hope. For the new people just turn it upside down and try to figure it out. :-}

You never know what you will find behind walls, etc when home renovation begins!
Homeowner renovating White Settlement (Texas) house finds hand grenade inside kitchen drawer
The new owner of a house under renovation in the 9200 block of Lanham Street in White Settlement found a hand grenade inside a kitchen drawer, police said Sunday.

The device was described as an older, military-style grenade. It did not contain explosive material, the Fort Worth Fire Department Arson/Bomb Squad determined.

White Settlement police have no leads on how the grenade got into the house, which had been vacant for a few years.

Police closed the immediate area while Fort Worth firefighters assessed the grenade

It is or was easier to purchase a empty hand grenade years ago. I remember going with my parents to a surplus store and actually holding a fragmentary “pineapple” style grenade in my hand.

Empty? I always treated those things until proven otherwise as quite LIVE, if the blast shock wave doesn't kill ya, then the fragments just might, we were taught to throw them as far as possible, the timer was set for 10 seconds once the clip was sprung and the pin was pulled...

I witnessed one guy almost get killed cause he lobbed the grenade so weakly that the instructor next to him dived for the deck and pulled the guy down behind the barrier just before time ran out as I think the grenade rolled back to the barrier, the barrier is a concrete wall with a thick plywood face. He lived to go practice with the practice grenades again, yes I qualified, I could then use either arm, just like with the M16 where I earned a sharp shooters medal.

They were quite safe. No pin or spoon was attached. Just a empty shell.

I bought one in the 60s at an Army surplus store. Mine had the pin and spoon but no bottom or firing cap. I think I paid about $3 for it back then. They had many.

The ‘Chicago Rat Hole’ Is The City’s Hottest New Tourist Attraction

People are flocking to a sidewalk hole in Roscoe Village thanks to a viral tweet, an unlucky rodent and some wet cement.

They look more like donuts to me than bagels.

A new meaning to the old tag line: Give me a light?
Miller Lite’s latest offering is a $5 tin of beer-flavored mints
CNBC Make It was able to test the candy before its launch.

If I got a Miller Lite at a bar that tasted like this, I’d tell the bartender they need to clean their lines.

It doesn’t taste much like mint, and it definitely doesn’t taste like beer. I can’t say this would do the trick to help satisfy a Dry January craving for the taste of Miller Lite.

But that’s not to say the mints taste bad, they just don’t taste like what they’re supposed to. The flavor is mildly sweet and inoffensive.

Even though the flavor leaves a lot to be desired, the reactions I got from friends and colleagues when offering them a candy was worth the $5.

Millers tried to get into the market here back in the early 70's, but had failed before well before the 70's were coming to an end, so those lollies absolutely sound terrible. :-O
