The dangers of the gym exposed.

A woman working out on a gym treadmill has her pants ripped off after they got stuck in the machine.

Should I mention that she tripped over her own shoelaces?

Cheers.

When are these guys going to get a summer uniform to stop this happening when the heat is on?

Multiple members of the King’s Guard collapsed in front of Prince William in sweltering conditions, yet the show kept going around them.

Dramatic scenes unfolded at the King’s Birthday parade rehearsals in London on Saturday, with at least three guards collapsing due to the city’s intense heat.

Videos of the walk-through show unwell members of the King’s Guard being stretchered or walked off the grounds after fainting during the military parade practice, also known as the Colonel’s Review.

More than 1400 soldiers of the Household Division and the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery were present at the event for Prince William to review them ahead of King Charles’ celebrations next week.

Despite temperatures reaching 31 degrees Celsius, or 88 degrees Fahrenheit, the guards wore their woollen tunics and bearskin hats as they marched with military equipment or rode on horseback to music played by their colleagues.....
Or is it just some form of royal torture?

Do you like dinosaurs? This piece is a bit lacking as there are several sites throughout central Queensland and into the Northern Territory where they're being found these days.

Only 5 feet down under, a dinosaur graveyard turned up in Australia. It's sparking a paleontological revolution in the country.

Cheers.

Swiss town dodges a landslide.

Rockfall narrowly misses village of Brienz in Switzerland.

LA couple found 1 million copper pennies in the crawlspace of an old family home. Now comes the hard part: Figuring out what to do with them.
They were cleaning out his father-in-law's home in Pico-Union, Los Angeles, last year when they chanced upon crates, boxes, and old bank bags full of pennies in a tight corner of a basement crawl space, KTLA first reported. Based on the weight of the discoveries, they estimated that they'd found at least one million coins, or around $10,000 in cold hard copper.

... But then came the next problem: Finding someone to take the pennies, which are all copper, not zinc. Several banks — including a Wells Fargo branch — turned them down, and Reyes and his wife didn't want to pay the 8% Coinstar fee.

For now, they've listed the coin collection on OfferUp for $25,000, which is more than twice their value, per KTLA. They're still waiting for someone to express interest in buying the entire collection.

Since they are 100% copper, they might be worth more by their weight than their face value.

They will have to look through the collection. Some pennies are worth a small fortune by themselves.

I don't know how she did it, but they never look like that when I've driven over them. :-O

A picture of a Brisbane bridge is attracting global attention with people declaring they would never cross it.

I don’t know if you were following this news story or not. It’s very grim. One of our own has passed.

And then there are the toll takers being exposed to car exhausts, my dad did that for 10 years to get a pension to go along with his Social Security, both ended suddenly in 1993 as did my dad. :(
Toll collectors? We havn't had them for many decades now.

These days Vic there are electronic tags and number plate recognition cameras do the job. ;-)

Cheers.

In a way it brought out the best people to join in the military. The racism towards non-white citizens forced the best and better qualified to rise above it.

Is this possible? About 3 years ago I bought a Dodge pickup truck with a blown engine for $500. The prior owner had driven it after the serpentine belt broke and it "seized" from overheating. When I first got it I changed the serpentine belt, put in a very low-viscosity oil, and tried to start it to see if could hear what was wrong. It ran but burned oil, a bad miss and I diagnosed it with a bent valve. Well, I parked it in hopes of one day rebuilding the whole engine. About once a month I would start it and let it run for a few minutes just to keep things loose and charge the battery. Last week I started it and forgot. 6 hours later I remembered and ran to turn it off. But it was running perfectly? No missing, no oil burning, and the valve noise was gone. It appears that letting is idle that long fixed the valve. It was not bent, just stuck. I have driven it around a couple of times now. Not really trusting it but I had it on the freeway at 80. The tires need replacing now but I think the truck fixed itself. As I asked it this possible?
