Police say 63-year-old man stole entire bridge
"Detectives discovered that Bramley, who formally worked in the Akron area, paid a local trucking company for a crane service. The crane was later used to place the bridge on and off a vehicle that transported it to the Medina County property," said the Akron Police Department in a press statement
The bridge in question was 58 feet long, 10 feet wide, and 6 feet high.

Well, it's not like they were using it.

It's all in 1's perspective.

Is Mount Everest really the tallest mountain on Earth?

It's no secret that Mount Everest, the jewel in Nepal's Himalayan crown, is the world's premier mountain. It's one of those facts embedded in childhood, like knowing that Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon or that blue whales are the largest animals ever to have lived.

You may be surprised to hear, then, that other peaks could conceivably be considered Earth's tallest; it just depends how you measure them.....
Cheers.

Finnish Man Blows Up His Tesla to Protest $22,600 Repair Cost
Katainen is a 2013 Tesla Model S owner who was told he would have to pay more than $22,600 to replace the battery on his car. For him, it apparently wasn’t worth it, ...

To put this in perspective, $22,600 would go a long way to buying another used 2013 Model S in Finland, which appear to sell for more than $42,900. But Katainen decides that’s not for him, proving that there is indeed a thin line between logic, rage, and insanity.

EDIT TO ADD YouTube video link of the event!

Today is $13 Dollar Bill Day

In 1984, Christopher Ship of Santa Fe, New Mexico, was arrested when he tried to spend a $13 bill he had made. I guess he was trying to account for inflation. ;-)

It would be bad enough if the decimal point was one place to the left but as it is...

Very sad. :-(

Tourists crushed to death in freak rock fall near waterfall.

Five people have tragically died and 32 are injured after a wall of rock collapsed on top of tourist boats below a waterfall in Brazil.

A tower of rocks suddenly broke away from the canyon wall and came crashing down on several leisure boats, sending out a huge wave over in Furnas Lake, near Capitólio, The Sun reports.

Video images showed a gathering of small boats moving slowly near the sheer rock cliff on Furnas Lake when a fissure appeared in the rock and a huge piece toppled directly onto at least two of the vessels.

At least one wrecked boat sank, others sped away.

Firemen, including divers, said they were searching for 20 people believed to be missing.

The people hurt in the accident had broken bones and one was in serious condition in hospital with head and facial injuries....

Not so freak, just infrequent. Still sad.

Not a good idea to spend too much time beneath cliffs, or on top of them near the edge.

Don't even need to be that close if the rocks fall into the water.

A really big one waiting to happen is in the Canary Islands for Mount Teide to lose the northern flank into the sea...

Here's a pop-press style article to give the idea of what will happen sometime:

Killer Earthquakes, life-threatening Tsunamis and Huge Death Toll expected When the Tenerife Volcano Teide erupts!

And this is what happened for the last big splash from there:

Explosive eruption, flank collapse and megatsunami at Tenerife...

All very real yet incomprehensible... All without precaution or contingency.

Stay safe folks!

Can I point you to a respected volcanologist Valentin Troll, Uppsala University and his recent lecture on Tenerife. The Geology of TENERIFE & TEIDE NATIONAL PARK
He talks about the historical collapses from about 00:33:00 and the chances of them in the future.

His Youtube page for more on volcanos is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoIhK8XHA0xTd9Hej8wfl1g/videos

Activision Files Unusual Lawsuit over Call of Duty Cheat Codes
Activision, publisher of the enormously popular gaming franchise Call of Duty, has taken an extraordinary step to try and shut down cheat software by suing the popular site EngineOwning (EO).

Attorneys for Activision argue EO’s cheating exploits are nothing more than illegal software hacks that disturb the competitive balance of the game, driving players to quit and publicly bash the game on social media.
