... So we start with a very simple loaf, that has a distinctive flavour, but won't keep for a long time (this is what freezers are for), or you have a product that contains stuff that came out of a chemical factory, has a very bland flavour and keeps for a long time. Which is where all those 'chemical/processed' ingredients cheaply replace the wholesome ingredients and also give rise to a longer 'shelf life' to ease distribution logistics (supplier costs). All at the expense of the consumer suffering poorer nutrition and higher toxicity. There's a reason why foodstuffs stuffed with preservatives last longer... And that ain't good for anything (or anyone) eating them! Cue various videos of 'fast food' burgers still resisting composing on top of a compost heap even after a full year... (There is also a series of rival adverts showing how their brand of burgers do go off after a few days!) Eat well! ......and then there are the burgers from a real butchers - which don't get a chance to go off before being consumed ;-) Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |

Not many of them left... Once the lifelong proprietor retires, there is usually noone willing to follow such traditional footsteps against our modern unhealthy commercialism... Eat well! See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

They certainly are an endangered species so it's great to see a young man growing a new business despite the massed forces of several supermarkets in the town. Bob Smith Member of Seti PIPPS (Pluto is a Planet Protest Society) Somewhere in the (un)known Universe? |
