It's a very comfortable 24C (feels like 22C) here. ;-) Cheers. |

What no Martian zoom filter? I thought so too. That's why I used it during my meeting last night. I am a cat.... person and a lawyer. |

Strangely enough, a black cat has just wandered by, carefully padding around the snow patches. See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Started snowing early this morning. Still coming down. More coming in the next storm. The next several days are going downhill fast. |

We have a new UK record of -23 deg C. Thankfully, it's nothing like that cold around here, but it's still somewhat chilly... See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

We have a new UK record of -23 deg C. Yep. Up in Scotland. It's on a level compared to what we have further north here in Sweden. And that UK temperature in comparison is rather anomalous being as we're supposed to be warmed by the Gulf Stream... Then again, the lack of Arctic ice cover means that we get an ever more frequent anomalous Jet Stream to wobble the Arctic freezer further south... Then further, there are the consequences of that including that the Arctic becomes even less frozen... I'm just glad to be back home, I drove a friend to arco for gas for my car, then to a diner, then to Walmart, and then home, while sitting at Walmart in my car my right ankle started to hurt, it would after being in a cramped car for a few hours and having the air temp drop from 72F to 67F. Progressing further into the morning and still a way away from sunlight. Of what are these strange "F"s being enumerated? Far more understandable and beautifully simple is to instead recalibrate to have zero for the freezing point of water and then have a simple percentage up to when water boils. That gives a good comfort zone of 20% (20 deg C) for 'modern' Humans. (30% for going 'native'? ;-) ) Stay warm folks! Martin ps: The hint is in there that it ain't warm here! Maybe this will be more to your liking 295.37K to 292.59K. ;) Freezing is at 273.15K, water boils at 373.15K. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

The "K" makes beautiful mathematical sense, and calibrates one-to-one alongside degrees Celsius. "C" is merely "K" with an offset to give a more conveniently calibrated 0 to 100 reading for us Humans for everyday use. Going atomic or energy or physics and "K" is easiest. In comparison, "F" is an arbitrary Voodoo scale that requires a conversion factor to do anything with. Great care is needed to get the conversion the "right way round"... Why linger with such outdated hubris?? Why make life hard? Stay warm! See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |
