Second it takes years to bring new wells on line and is very expensive.

Inflation is due almost entirely to the run up in energy prices which makes everything more expensive to produce and to move to market.
It is also due to dumping trillions of dollars into the economy which were not earned. More money chasing fewer goods (not produced by the money chasing it)
Finally, reducing the US 's energy production reduced the world supply of oil.
Putin is responsible for the price of bacon doubling ?--It was the cost of producing and shipping feed, moving the product to market and so on.

Inflation was already at 7.5% the month before Putin invaded.

If oil had stayed at $30 per barrel there might not have been enough money for Russia to spend on this evil adventure.

I hope that we can survive until the mid-term elections then maybe we can reset our National priorities that make common sense.

Now that sounds just like someone that swallows all that Trump (and his his band of RINO's) B.S. because they can't understand the complex reality of today's real world and its economics to me.

In Biden's first year 11 million barrels per day were produced compared to 9 million/day in Trump's 1st year.

Why did the U.S. reduce oil production? that's assuming it did, the above fact says that might not be true.
Could that be down to economics?
It cost between $10 & $15 to produce a barrel in Saudi Arabia and over $70 in West Texas.
At those costs is it possible to produce all the oil needed in the U.S. locally and keep inflation low.
There has to be reasons why there are 9,137 approved permits to drill on Federal and Indian lands unused.

Looks mutually exclusive to me.
