Why da Heck would I Want Power From Solar Panels and Wind Turbines when a WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL SMALL Wire Gives Me EVERY Bit of ELECTRONs I Need?

You are correct in climate being hotter or cooler in prehistoric times. Thee are several differences from today. First, climate changes usually happens over thousands of years, not less than a hundred years. This gives existing wildlife or plants a chance to adapt. Many species couldn't make the adaptation, and died out. Today, with changes happening so quickly, species can't adapt. The other part is that there was no human infrastructure in prehistoric times. No cities, agriculture, or interdependence. Wildlife could migrate within continental limits based on changing conditions. Today, with rising sea levels, large metropolitan areas would be flooded, and possibly forced to relocate inland. Imagine the cost of moving New York city 20 miles inland. Also, as a global community, we are dependent on centralized food sources, such as farms that sell their products worldwide. Imagine a continuation of current events such as drought, wildfire, historic floods every few years, stronger and more frequent major storms, all having some effect on agriculture. Rightly so, many are concerned about illegal migration. The reasons can be multiple, but economic or violent situations from migration source countries are relevant reasons. imagine water sources drying up, or mass collapse of agriculture over certain regions. That would force the migration of billions, not millions of people to areas that can still sustain a population. This can be avoided, or at least minimized by reducing green house gases, that are causing the current climate changes, but it will take a united effort from most of the world. I suggest anyone wishing to no more, read the United Nations climate report. It is based on over 3000 worldwide pier reviewed studies, and culminates the information in ways that it can be understood.
