Better not type my first thought.
LA man who mocked Covid-19 vaccines dies of virus
A California man who mocked Covid-19 vaccines on social media has died after a month-long battle with the virus.
Stephen Harmon, a member of the Hillsong megachurch, had been a vocal opponent of vaccines, making a series of jokes about not having the vaccine.
"Got 99 problems but a vax ain't one," the 34-year-old tweeted to his 7,000 followers in June.
...
Prior to his death, had joked about the pandemic and vaccines, sharing memes saying he trusted the Bible over top US disease expert Dr Anthony Fauci.

Apparently he attended a mega-church.

Maybe he didn't pay his tithes.

Well, since the god they worship doesn't exist, not paying tithes could only mean one thing. His pastor or financial arm of his church council ... ? :)

Won't have any effect on anti-vaxers.

People who have recovered from COVID-19 tend to score significantly lower on an intelligence test compared to those who have not contracted the virus, according to new research published in The Lancet journal EClinicalMedicine. The findings suggest that the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 can produce substantial reductions in cognitive ability, especially among those with more severe illness.

That's what I've been afraid of for a long time.

Especially when observing the cognitive ability of our British, and especially English, politicians after their personal encounters with the virus.

There's more in the news saying get vaccinated or else.
Veterans Affairs, California and NYC have all announce their policies today. Get vaccinated or face testing at least once a week.

Here down under Gladys' continuing "Screw Up" has seen the Sydney cluster blow past 2,200 infections (and spread further) along with 10 deaths at last count and 1 of those deaths was a 38yr old woman with no previous health conditions. :-(

Even the other states and territories are now Gladys' back to do a proper lockdown and stop her increasingly leaky problem (and I totally agree with them).

There are now 169 hospitalisations (only 1 elderly woman who only had 1 jab of the vaccine is included in that number) while 46 are now in ICU (all unvaccinated) with 19 of those now on ventilators.

Across the country there are now in total 205 hospitalisations with 49 in ICU and with 20 of those being on ventilators.

ATM I'm hitting the supermarket, post office and chemist shop 1st thing of a morning as soon as they open plus I've been staying away from the pub just to be sure that I avoid any out of village disease spreading covidiots that may travel through here trying to escape the state.

Anyhow stay safe.

Well it's time for another update as the world's case total case tally passes 195.9 million while deaths have now passed 4,192,000. :-(

Changes on the death list were Paraguay replacing Sweden in 38th place as Tunisia leapt over Iraq and Bulgaria to land in 30th, Iraq then passed Bulgaria to stay in 31st while Indonesia removed Spain from 14th spot and now I'll try and tackle the case list changes.

The British Virgin Islands finally navigated its way past St. Vincent Grenadines back into 193rd spot, Bhutan and Saint Martin both passed Turks/Caicos to claim 189th & 190th respectively while Mauritius flew over Sint Maarten, Monaco, New Zealand and Liechtenstein before landing in 183rd, the Isle of Man also jumped over New Zealand and Liechtenstein to takeover 182nd as Laos took flight over Comoros, Guinea-Bissau, Barbados, Gibraltar, Chad and San Marino to refuel in 175th, Burundi jumped over Sierra Leone and Eritrea into 169th and Iceland passed Gambia before both jumped over Yemen and the C.A.R. to move into 165th &166th places.

The Channel Islands have moved along past Benin and Equatorial Guinea into 162nd, the Bahamas replaced Belize in 150th as Andorra passed Mali before Tajikistan passed them both to claim 147th, French Polynesia displaced Mayotte from 138th, Fiji took flight again over another 6 countries to make another refueling stop in 132nd, Malta removed Cabo Verde from 125th while Trinidad/Tobago and Réunion both passed Sudan to claim 122nd & 123rd spots, Malawi jumped over the D.R.C. as well as the Ivory Coast into 115th and Rwanda took 113th from Singapore.

Things get a little complicated now as Cambodia slipped past Luxembourg, but remain in 11th, Uganda passed China, but moved back to 106th, Zimbabwe jumped over Uganda and Cyprus before becoming the 104th member of the 100K+ club then removed Montenegro from 104th after Ghana became the 100st member of the 100K+ club and then passed Montenegro, but they moved back to 102nd spot while Botswana leapt over China and Cyprus to become the 101st member of the 100K+ club before passing Montenegro and Ghana, but only gaining 101st place as Vietnam took another long distance flight over all of them as well as 6 other countries before landing in 98th spot and earning memberships in the 70K+, 80K+ and 90K+ clubs before becoming the 103rd country to enter the 100K+ clubhouse along the way.

The Algeria/Kyrgyzstan/Mongolia freight train rattled past North Macedonia before becoming the Algeria/Mongolia/Kyrgyzstan freight train occupying 87th/88th/89th places, Libya removed Armenia from 79th while Moldova slipped past Slovenia, but they remain in 77th because Myanmar took flight over them as well as Bahrain and Ethiopia before landing in 74th, Honduras replaced Egypt in 71st as Sri Lanka and Ireland slipped past Oman into 68th & 69th spots, Venezuela became the 67th member of the 300K+ club after Cuba passed them to become the 66th member before flying over Denmark, Palestine and then followed Guatemala past the Dominican Republic and Azerbaijan to take over 62nd place while Guatemala got 61st.

Kuwait grabbed 57th spot from Slovakia after it was passed by Georgia who continued on past Costa Rica to become the 55th member of the 400K+ club, Greece nudged past Ecuador, but they only remained in 49th after Thailand took off passing Belarus, Paraguay, Bolivia as well as both of them to become the 47th member of the 500K+ club before sweeping Saudi Arabia from 46th place, Kazakhstan had already passed Saudi Arabia to claim 45th for a couple of days while Japan replaced Israel in 33rd, Pakistan became the 30th country to enter the 1M+ clubhouse 24hrs before Malaysia became the 31st member and then sweeping Pakistan out of 30th as Iraq displace the Philippines from 23rd.

Indonesia became the 14th member of the 3M+ club as Spain booted Italy out of 10th, the U.K. plucked Turkey from 6th while France became the 5th country to enter the 6M+ clubhouse and even if 6 states (including Florida) as well as D.C. didn't enter any stats today the U.S. again entered the highest new daily death count for the period.

Anyhow that's it for now and I'm dry.

And the UK numbers are coming crashing down after a fearfully sharp spike.

Was our latest spike in numbers (and deaths) a consequence of the (maskless, drunken) Euro-football watching/partying?

Had a chat with the Primary today. Local hospital has 18 cases. Of those, not in ICU, only one who was in for Covid had a jab and only one jab. The others had no Covid symptoms, in for other reasons but they swab everyone. There a 3 cases in ICU, one will not make it, none had a jab. It includes a local prominent anti-vax agitator. Karma, it is a bitch.

I think they need to do a collective Darwin award for all the anti-vaxers who died of COVID this year.

Another coronavirus variant has reached Florida. Here’s what you need to know.
A coronavirus variant discovered in Colombia is showing up among patients in South Florida, increasing infections and putting health officials on alert as calls grow louder for unvaccinated individuals to get inoculated.

Carlos Migoya, CEO of Jackson Health System, told WPLG in Miami earlier this week that the B.1.621 variant has accounted for about 10 percent of coronavirus patients, trailing behind delta, the now-dominant variant in the United States that has been ravaging the nation’s unvaccinated, and the gamma variant. B.1.621 has yet to receive a Greek-letter designation as more prominent variants have.

Migoya told the news station that he speculated B.1.621 is rising in South Florida because of international travel between Colombia and Miami, which serves as a gateway to Latin America.
A person who replied to an email sent from The Washington Post to Migoya’s office said he was unavailable to comment.

Health experts will keep B.1.621 on their radar as the fall season looms and as parts of the country still lag in their vaccination efforts, experts told The Post.

The earliest documented samples of B.1.621 were noted in January, and at least 16 cases have been recently reported in the United Kingdom, where health officials have noted that the majority of cases linked to the variant were the result of international travel.

Public Health England noted last week that there is currently no evidence to indicate that the variant causes more severe disease or evades the efficacy of vaccines. Yet the agency has designated the variant to be under investigation as it continues to conduct lab testing to better understand the impact mutations have on the coronavirus.

I thought I'd heard & seen enough over the past 6 decades, but it seems I haven't.Have been giving GB News a go as...
Going good until that presenter took the knee.
...didn't stop watching but thought just another serious hiccup & bye-bye.
They keep Tom Harwood onboard & bye-bye will be definite.
I have never seen such blatant dictating on live TV...
...until now.
That guy's interview today debating the vaccine passports with Laurence Fox...
"Flu doesn't kill"
...Next...

As for v-passports, won't need to access the NHS website/app to get one which is only valid for 24 hours.
You get one when you're given your 1st jab. Small credit card sized one showing: 1st jab, vaccine name, batch no & date.
Section on it ready for 2nd jab details. Once done, get it laminated, pop in purse/wallet - job done.
The furore over this: sheesh, it's true what they say baffles brains.
