Curious...

Sorry (I'm very 'simple')... Just to be sure: What's the units/placings for those numbers?
Well I thought it fairly simple Martin, there are 220 countries (along with 2 ships) in the lists so the 1st lot of numbers are either case or death number groupings while the next figures are position numbers that occupy those groups. All those numbers in white are from a post I made on the 30th November last year (my time) while everything in red is as of yesterday so as to compare how things have moved over that time period.

I'm sorry (I'm a "numbers" person), but I hope that clears things up (maybe?).

Thanks for that.

Got to ask:

220 countries (along with 2 ships)

What/why/how for the 2 ships?!

Stay safe folks!

Cruise ships that were not allowed to dock at the time.

I have no real idea except that maybe no country wanted to claim them. We wore the Ruby Princess' numbers of 28 deaths and 822 cases which was certainly worse that the Diamond Princess' numbers.

Yes, docking rights denied, no entry, drop your anchor in international waters.

IMO the decision to allow any public transport operation to be mask free is the real stupidity.

Trapped in a poorly ventilated tin can for many minutes with complete strangers has to one of the definitions that says "masks must be worn".

Also, not forgetting those that did dock but passengers & crews not allowed to disembark.

That's why a red nose for Khan. If tying down the biggest transport system in London to compulsory masks, the same should be said of all transport in London.
After all, the muppet is Mayor of LONDON not just TfL.

That's not his fault. The Barbican story (where National Rail and TfL share neighbouring platforms, but are governed by different rules) was created by the idiots who make rules without understanding or caring about what happens on the ground. In this case, the third-rate reserve team who make up Boris Johnson's government.

But it is.
Mayor of London says it all. Masks are either compulsory or not on public transport. The owner/operator is not relevant.
Edit: Nearly had me there. :-)
Barbican has had no mainline trains stop there since 2009 after the platforms were extended at Farringdon.
Had to check TBH as wasn't 100% sure.
There are several other shared platforms but all still inside London.

Somebody please tell Bojo the Clown to STFU.
"And I should serve notice now that by the end of September, when all over 18s have had their chance to be double jabbed we're planning to make full vaccination the condition of entry to nightclubs and other venues where large crowds gather."
So from 19/7/21 until 30/9/21 is totally safe then Bojo?

It's a difficult question, which defeated Google.

ThamesLink trains, which the BBC report shows sharing a platform with Circle / Hammersmith & City trains are:
Temporarily shown on the Underground Network map.
Co-ticketed with TfL via the Oyster platform.

But I believe:
They are not managed by the same company
They do not share the same tracks or power supply systems.
They are subject to different pandemic rules.

I also believe that the Mayor can only make rules changes by ordering TfL to vary its 'conditions of carriage' - probably meaning you can walk mask-free on a TfL platform, but not board a train with the intention of going anywhere.

That's different from the National Rail rules, which - until today - demanded that you wore a mask on both trains and stations. Whether that station was King's Cross in the rush hour, or my little commuter halt (two piles of sleepers, two bus shelters, and - outside peak periods - no passengers).

Still in service. - Faringdon to other destinations. Barbican route no longer in use.

Sorry, my mistake in message 2080396. I mis-remembered Barbican, but the BBC story clearly cites Farringdon as an example of the stations where mask confusion arises.

.Makes one wonder why Trump didn't declare all waters international waters. as that would've made his early "number go down".

Didn't he try that with the South OF China Sea? Didn't go well for him.
