Something really cheap that might help COVID patients.............. Low-dose aspirin cuts severe coronavirus risk, study suggests. Low-dose aspirin could help keep coronavirus patients off of ventilators, decrease their chances of requiring admission to the intensive care unit and lower the risk of in-hospital death, according to the findings of a new study. I just can't believe the amount of COVIDIOTS that are around these days, from the summer breakers in the U.S. to those in Europe protesting against lockdowns, that are only going to make things worse. :-O Anyhow it's time for another update on this hideous situation and at the end of the last reporting period the world's case tally well exceeded 124.7 million while deaths passed 2,745,300. :-( In the top 30 of the death list Romania displaced Chile from 23rd place as Canada replaced Belgium in 21st while the Ukraine took 18th from Turkey and now for the case position changes. Sudan finally put in their numbers which had them displace Australia from 113th, Botswana booted Zimbabwe from 109th while the Ivory Coast jumped over Cameroon and Uganda to land in 105th, Cyprus nudged Namibia from 103rd as Uruguay kicked Uzbekistan from 94th, Montenegro passed Kyrgyzstan before Norway leapt over both to claim 90th and Sri Lanka replaced China in 87th spot. Kenya blasted Albania from 80th place, Ethiopia booted Guatemala from 68th as Paraguay took 66th from Egypt, Palestine displaced Denmark from 59th while Bulgaria replaced Belarus in 47th, Lebanon blasted the U.A.E. from 40th then Hungary slid past Switzerland into 32nd and Chile claimed 22nd from Canada. Well that's it for this update. |

EU's 'most embarrassing' day: How the story behind the vaccine factory raid unravelled Italian elite unit found millions of AstraZeneca doses thought to be meant for the UK - but their destination was the EU itself It was an extraordinary story – the European Commission had turned detective to find AstraZeneca's secret stockpile of vaccines reserved for Britain. |

Well, they have to find some way to punish/embarrass the UK for Brexit. Their Gestapo tactics failed, so they sent in the EU SS. |

If it was just Brexit alone, I think that both sides would have muddled through. Covid put paid to that. In fact Covid has shown what many have said about the EU. It's too bloated It's undemocratic In plain language, it no longer serves Europe. Many Eurozone nations are finding that out & all due to Covid with Brussels failing to handle it. The German elections in September will be interesting. |

Can't believe the "intentional ignorance" of some people ... Overheard at a pub: "If you can smell my fart your mask isn't working.*" *Working in reference to Covid What makes farts stink? Hydrogen sulfide, H2S How big is H2S? ?1Å For comparison how big is Oxygen molecule? also ?1Å How big is smallest droplet exhaled that Covid will be in? ?5000Å What is that size difference? Well a grain of salt is about 1/3 of a mm. Put 5000 end to end and that is 1500mm or 1.5m about 4.5 feet. So pontificating know it all at the pub thinks a mask that stops 1000Å particles doesn't work because it lets 1Å particles like oxygen through. Wouldn't be so bad, but he is going around telling everyone that it is a fake government power grab to have you wear a mask. That level of "intentional ignorance" is the same a playing Russian Roulette with an automatic. <ed>the ?'s should be the approximate equal sign. Not sure why that didn't work as it is fine on the preview. |

Well if I was the new Intel boss, I would be looking VERY closely at the EU when deciding where the European fabrication plant will be situated. ATM, it certainly would not be in any one of 27 European nations. Asinine politics at work |

Well, they have to find some way to punish/embarrass the UK for Brexit. After a bit of contemplation It seems to me that is quite Trumpian of the EU. |

We in the UK thought that when he was the President of the European Commission he was a pain in the a__, but his successor, Ursula von der Leyen, is even worse and to prove it Jean Claude Juncker has said We have to pull back from a Covid vaccine war |

What annoys me in all this, is the fact no one is attacking Pfizer for it's production of the vaccine. Channel 4 News fact check on 20/3/21 had this to say: The latest yellow card data shows that 11.7 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine had been administered by March 7, similar to the total number of Pfizer doses, although the figures are not very precise.Reading the report reminded me of a Hollywood movie fictionalized but based on fact - Red Ball Express - supplyiing Patton in 1944. The concept was so simple it became a standard still in use today - 1st/2nd/3rd line & IRG (Independent Replenishment Group) transportation. Nice to see the UK implement this in the pandemic. But the Health Secretary played down the significance of these kind of delays on Thursday, saying: “Because we get supplies out into the field so fast, and run a highly lean delivery system, changes in future supply schedules impact on the weekly availability of vaccine.” I believe I said it several years ago when I congratulated the EU on winning - They now had a scapegoat for all their failings, blame Britain. Who would have dreamed those words being so prophetic. C4 News Fact check |

Since my last update the world's case tally has hit 126.7 million while deaths fast approach 2.78 million and the numbers are on the rise yet again. :-( At the end of the last reporting period there were a couple of changes in the top 30 of the death list and they were Romania leaping over Belgium and Canada to take 21st place while Poland took 15th spot from Peru. now onto the case list movements. Jamaica bumped Zimbabwe from 110th place, Botswana slipped into 108th past Senegal while Cameroon flew past Uganda, the Ivory Coast, Namibia and Cyprus to land in 103rd, Luxembourg nudged Singapore out of 100th and now things get a bit complicated with Ghana passing China into 90th, Norway passing both of them as well as Sri Lanka to claim 88th while Uruguay passed the lot of them to take over 87th. Estonia jumped over Latvia and South Korea to take up 84th spot as all 3 enter the 100,000+ club, North Macedonia booted Albania right out of 81st while Paraguay became the 66th country to join the 200,000+ club, Palestine shoved Ireland out of 58th as Greece gave Tunisia the old heave ho from 55th, Azerbaijan replaced the Dominican Republic in 53rd and Bulgaria displaced Ecuador from 46th spot. And to finish this update off Slovakia kicked Panama from 43rd while Jordan blew Serbia out of 35th as the Philippines became the 30th country to join the 700,000+ club and Iraq blasted Portugal from 27th. |

... And for here in the UK: It looks like our daily case numbers levelled off at about 5500 new cases per day and is now slowly creeping back upwards. Have people 'given up' too soon and too soon before the vaccinations can win against the deadly race? Stay safe folks!
