I was a plaintiff (not lead) vs the Attorney General of the USA in his official capacity seeking injunctive relief. The scoundrel, Mitch McConnell and later Orin Hatch, saw his pet law was going to get tossed so he quickly rewrote it before justice could be served, so the specific case vs. Reno/Ashcroft went moot. The scoundrel had to do that a few more times with more injunctive suits being filed or refiled, eventually SCOTUS tossed hunks of the law and a new AG made some stipulations as well. Then the feds for a couple of decades have had better things to do after a raid based on the scoundrel's law went south with a negligent discharge by an agent with no crime being found. Now with RINO's making a comeback I'm worried it is all going to happen again.
IIRC original law was written 1977, amend 1984, amend 1986, amend 1988, amend 1990, amend 1994, amend 1996 which is the version SCOTUS eviscerated in 2002.

In Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed a bill which lets parents object to books that contain subjects that are not age-appropriate.

So now an activist, Chaz Stevens has sent petitions to many Florida schools asking if a well known book should also be banned because it contains "casual" references to murder, adultery, sexual immorality, and fornication. "Do we really want to teach our youth about drunken orgies?"
In the book there are also references to rape, bestiality, cannibalism and infanticide.

Stevens sent the petitions as a way to point out the hypocrisy, he said. "If you want to teach morality and ethics, do you really want to turn to a book that wants you to dash babies against rocks?" he told NPR, pointing to Psalm 137:9.

As you might have guessed from the last bit, the book he wants to ban is the Bible.

Seems like a reasonable request to me.
