Thanks Admiral Glover for editing your word. Now mine doesn't look like it is out of sequence. |

About the only thing I remember, from English Lit over 60 years ago, and the meaning of "tilting at windmills" We also had to study, Shakespeare's 'Merchant of Venice' with Shylock and his 'pound of flesh' |

Should we have a 'challenge' thread to uncover the more obscure word connections? Guaranteed beers from some of our contributors?? Cheers, Martin See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Should we have a 'challenge' thread to uncover the more obscure word connections? I find some of these posts are bad enough for me to cross reference. Even I sometimes post something out in the either. But for everyone to do it?! Don’t know. Luciferous Logolepsy The name of this project is also its description: Luciferous [adj. - illuminating, literally and figuratively] Logolepsy [n. - an obsession with words], in other words: 'an illuminating obsession with words'. Dragging obscure words into the light of day. Personally I think this idea will fall flat. I like the current format with the occasional obscure word or words. |

The ones that I struggle with are when I cannot think of any reason why a word has been used and then google it and find it is a 'Brand name' not used over here. |

Port-style wines from Australia. Through the first half or so of the 20th century, most wines produced in Australia were 'fortified' wines such as Muscats, or Sherry and Port-styled wines. Now they produce delightful 'Stickies', also known as dessert wines alongside the historic tawny style port wines. |
