Cheers.

That puts a whole different meaning to the various house names and boat names that retiring folk use such as:

"Dun-riding" and "Dun-roaming" and all the other "Dun"s...!

I've always known dun as a dirty-brown colour as in a dun cow.
But that's probably because my maternal family were farmers.

Coincidentally , I am reading a history book on the Celts and have just come across a reference to a 12th century Irish "Book of the Dun Cow" (Lebor na hUidre) the oldest manuscript from Ireland.

Mmmm...

We have a local phrase here of (suffering) being "Dun in"...

I've always understood that to mean being badly tired / exhausted.

Or...?

Memoranda:

Reminds me of an excellent sketch from one of Terry Pratchett's stories where a meeting with an agenda of one item is consumed by the argument of whether the meeting agenda should really be merely an agendum...

Beautifully hilariously correct and academic!

Seriously, what good is a meeting if you cannot even get the title right?!!

cable --> DISH

Cable = Comcast, or AT&T U-Verse. (Even though U-Verse is VDSL, to the layperson, it's equivalent to cable.)

DISH = DISH Network, Satellite

We've been on DISH Network for just about a year, now. After ironing out bugs in the beginning of our service term
with DISH, we seem to have the BEST TV service that we've EVER had. We started with the monopolistic Comcast,
went to U-Verse, (still have U-Verse Internet), now DISH.
