wild --> turkey Wild Turkey - Bourbon. NOTE: Must be 18 or older to access the Wild Turkey Site. (A popup comes up immediately asking your country of origin, and your birth date.) [EDIT:] NOTE - In the US one must be 18 to work at a bar and be able to serve alcohol, BUT, one MUST be 21 before being allowed to drink alcohol. (At last check....) I was totally confused over the figs - newtons link. Not surprising really as Newtons is an American brand name unknown to most outside of the U.S. Cookies we understand as it appears in many American publications, movies and TV shows, a substitute word for biscuits. Which is another word Americans don't understand, biscuit means cooked twice and produces a crisp, unleavened sweet product, not a piece of bread. A Newton to me is Newton, absolute unit of force in the International System of Units (SI units), abbreviated N. It is defined as that force necessary to provide a mass of one kilogram with an acceleration of one metre per second per second. |

Ooops! I misspelled the actor's name.... Darren, (with an 'E', NOT an 'I'), McGavin played Kolchak. (Too late to edit the last Post, so I've added this one.) TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

"Evening All" is/was a friendly official greeting from a local Police Constable out on his beat. May be followed up with a "What have We here then?..." See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

Beaks -> teachers In the UK, in boarding schools, teachers used to be referred to as beaks. See the book "Down with skool" and Nigel Molesworth Happy Crunching, Graham |

Non-Lawyers may not be aware of this but cases are won either on the law or facts. For cases that are won on the law, the lawyer will write a brief. Briefs are in essence copies of what judges have said in other cases. I once had a case where the judge asked to contact another attorney he knew and to copy the other attorney's brief. I did all I did was to change the names and dates. A lot of trial practice is plagiarizing. |
